"Technician arrived over 1 hour after the time given by office. Did not know the job specs that were given when appointment was set up. Had to return to shop as tech did not come prepared. When settling bill tech said $350. We explained that we should not have to pay road time for shop run. He called office and came back and said the cost was $350, taking the shop run off the cost. We stated that was the same cost. Tech said it was $75 for the shop run making the bill $425, so minus the $75 the bill was now $350. The cleaning of one pipe with no blockage should not be $425. Tech wore mask 2 out of the 3 times we conversed but the mask was not CDC approved, which means the customer isn’t protected. I think EcoClean needs to improve its communication with clients and needs to improve field tech and office communications."

"The technicians came early and got right to the problem. They explained my options and what parts would be required to replace the grinder pump. They let me know up front how much the job would cost. They were pleasant and cleaned the area up nicely! I give them 5 plus stars!!! Thank You!"

"I hired them to clean out the main line of the house which was blocked with root. He did a good job with the clean out, but then charged me a "clean up fee." Only problem was he hadn't cleaned up anything. He put the debris (small roots) into a bucket I provided, but left a mess all over the floor! He wasn't even going to take the bucket out and empty it until I asked him about it."

"Friday night my sewer line clogged where it exits the house and was backflowing up and from under my garage toilet. My plumber recommended Ecoclean. I called and they were there within 20 minutes and my clog was cleared within the hour. I am thoroughly impressed with the service, professionalism and friendly personality of the guy that did the work. Although $525 seemed a little high, it was an emergency call on a weekend and they saved me a lot of smelly damage so it was definitely worth it compared to the alternatives."

"Hired Cyr Septic after seeing their reviews on Home Advisor. Had them perform a sewer cam inspection for a real estate purchase. The work performed was very good. The problems found not so much. They also provided a detailed quote for the repairs necessary. Their inspection plus the other home inspection I had performed, steered me away from a potential money pit. Money well spent. Thanks Troy and crew."

"Had an appointment for a cleaning and look into why there was a periodic lack of hot water issue on a Weds. Technician called the afternoon before and wanted to reschedule due to an emergency appointment. Not a big deal and he showed up on time two days later. Replaced a couple of air reliefs for $71 each ( a $25 part at most) but he did a great job, very personable and gave a 2 year guarantee on the parts. I would hire them again."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

While some chemical drain cleaners with hydrochloric acid can dissolve hair, this method is not recommended as it can also destroy your plumbing pipes. A common DIY alternative is using baking soda and vinegar, which can help break down the clog but will not actually dissolve the hair. The best and safest method for clearing a hair clog is to remove it manually. You can use a drain snake, a straightened wire hanger with pliers to fish out the clog, or have a plumber use a professional auger for more severe blockages.

Some flushable wipes companies say they are designed to disintegrate within a few hours to a few days after being flushed. These wipes allegedly use materials that are more water-soluble than traditional wipes. However, many experts have raised concerns that even so-called "flushable" wipes do not break down as easily as claimed and can contribute to clogs and blockages in sewer systems.

To prevent plumbing and sewer problems, avoid flushing wipes, even those labeled as flushable. Instead, dispose of them in the trash. This can help prevent costly plumbing issues and reduce the strain on wastewater treatment systems.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

Professionals use augers, hydrojetting equipment, and cameras for precise clearing and inspection.
