"Simon James is the owner of Happy Painting. Simon completed 3 projects for our group in 2020. Two of the projects were interior projects and the other project was a very large 3 story deck. Simon's performance on all of these projects was excellent. As a group - we could not have been any happier with Simon's work. On a scale of 1 to 10 - ( I would rate all of Simon's work as a 10 ). All of Simon's work was finished - ( On time and On budget ). Simon was also extremely pleasant to deal with on all projects. If you are planning a painting project in Southern Maine - ( I can only say that you will be making a mistake by not hiring Simon James of Happy Painting for your project ). Thank You, Chris Mullin - 207-274-4153 - ( please contact me )"

"I love ❤️ the paint job on my home Jose did a wonderful job he’s very professional and very kind would knock on the door to make sure he was doing everything exactly the way I wanted it . This company helps you with your color choices ,they came out 2 times with a smile but even after that I wanted to see several shades Rex came right out a 3rd time the next day and put color samples on my wall so I could choose the one I liked the best I have have to say what really touched me was I became very ill and was admitted into the hospital and besides for the norm of Jose telling me I hope you get well he asked if I needed anything at all and then Rex said the same thing . I was list for words I really believe if I was alone and needed some soup Jose wound have gotten it but the wok was beautiful everything was cleaned up they texted to say when they were here ,and when he was done for the day , and what time he would come the next day . I didn’t expect my bars to be in the price but was happily surprised to come home and see them painted also I recommend this company I definitely will be calling for my outside wall and interior painting to be done . Thanks Lenzen"

"Ben is a real pro. He had to paint the entire inside of our house while we were living in it. He painted all the ceilings, all the trim (which was stained and he primed and painted all of it) and all the walls. He prepped all the surfaces beforehand. His lines are almost perfect. I chose Ben because he had all 5 star reviews and his record is still holding. You will not be disappointed when you choose Ben to do your painting."

"Brendan did a terrific job.I needed help with my outside lighting and he fixed the problem and replaced all of the bulbs. I also needed to have a screen door repaired and reframed. He did both of those things. We have also discussed future projects that will take place in the Fall. He is polite, respectful, and knowledgeable. A pleasure to work with and for me to learn from. My first experience with Angi but won't be my last."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar can remove polyurethane from wood, but it is a slow, inefficient, and inconsistent restoration method. Whatever your intention, it’s best to avoid using vinegar on wood with a polyurethane finish—though it can be an effective cleaner for other wood finishes.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

The easiest way to remove window decals is to soak the area in hot, soapy water. Let it sit for 15 minutes before scraping it with a plastic scraper or the edge of a credit card. You can also remove window decals with white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, or applying heat from a hairdryer or steam cleaner.

Linoleum adhesive is quite stubborn, so you may have to try several different methods for removal. You can start with a wallpaper steamer and steam it off or add laundry detergent to water and let it soak into the adhesive. You can try paint thinner directly on the adhesive for about 10 minutes and then wipe away.

Soot can be harder to remove compared to other types of stains given its acidic nature. It can also cause underlying paint to peel off during the cleaning process. If your soot issue is a result of smoke damage, it’s recommended you call a pro to help remove it versus doing it yourself.
