"Dom did an excellent job, went above and beyond of what I except, he ran into a problem with one of the mirrors but this did not deter him from getting it fixed, as this is an old RV and parts are hard to get, what is rely nice he comes to your location, would definitely recommend and hire again"

"Nick and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Matt and his wife for their quality work done in removing all of our cabinets appliances doors vanities and all of our boxes and trash. Nick and I would be happy to refer them for any type of household maintenance and repairs to any of our friends. Matt is an electrician by trade And he was able to educate us on an issue with our wiring. Price for the job was amazing, came out immediately to handle the job and even came back the next day when we needed his services again. LOOK NO FURTHER EMPIRE HOME IMPROVEMENTS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I wish we could give them 1000 stars. Thanks so much!!"

Sand Rock Delivery FAQs, answered by experts

Gravel driveways require regular maintenance because the material can shift over time. Routine tasks include raking the gravel to ensure an even layer, filling in ruts or low spots, and removing debris, especially after storms. You should also add fresh gravel as needed to prevent potholes, remove weeds by hand or with an herbicide, and occasionally spray the driveway with water to reduce dust.

Periodically, you may need to grade and level the entire driveway, which is often done every few years. Any refilled potholes should be compacted; for excessive dust, you can use a mechanical compactor. To minimize future maintenance, ensure the land is properly graded before installation and consider laying down landscaping fabric to help keep the gravel in place. In areas with heavy rain, reinforcing the edges can help prevent erosion. Additionally, it's best to avoid using a snowplow on a gravel driveway during the winter.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.

In most cases, it’s better to remove rocks before adding mulch. Layering the two will restrict drainage and plant health, and can create an unpleasant texture underfoot.

Generally, you want the soil for your edible plants to have good drainage, organic matter for nutrients, a loose texture (like loam soil), and a balanced pH level. However, the type of plants you're growing will dictate the exact characteristics your soil needs to thrive. For example, brussels sprout prefers more acidic soil, while broccoli prefers more alkaline soil.

Basic kits exist, but professional soil engineers provide in-depth analysis and construction recommendations.
