He scheduled the work several times and each time they had the wrong materials and asked to reschedule. Now Chris does not respond at all to emails or phone calls. "Did not grind. They said it did not need it. Had a patio and walkway stained and sealed. They took a phone photo of the wet concrete. When it dried it was a disaster. Concrete coming through the stain. Immediately called to come look at it but since I had only paid 1/2 down the owner, Jason Stolba refused. Saying when I paid the balance he would check it out. The salesman said I was a pain because I kept calling when he was at the hospital visiting his sick mother. I asked how am I to know where you are? At this point Timothy Partner got very nasty telling me I was tiring with all my questions. I have a multitude of pictures I could furnish I asked Mr Stolba for my money back and he said if I took my negative review down he would comply."

You can lay carpet by yourself, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should. A knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller are a few pieces of equipment you’ll need that you may not already have lying around. Whether or not transition pieces go under the baseboard depends on a few different factors. If the transitions are being installed with the flooring and before the baseboards, then they will go under the baseboards. If the baseboards are already installed, then it depends on whether or not you want to remove them or undercut them. If not, the transition pieces can butt up against the baseboard.

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.
