"Got ripped off...do not use this company without an estimate, remember companies can get anyone to write a review to say how great they are, last week they charged $839.00 for a simple plastic 1/2" pipe repair in Fenwick, De. I was not there, my daughter was. So be warned - part of the bill said $360 - to lay down drop cloth, open hole in drywall, and sweep up. I called them 3 times, and sent an email, no one would call me back, this was before I posted anything negative - so be warned. CWO"

Wells should be at least 100 feet deep for drinking water, but they may need to be deeper depending on the local geology, water quality, and your household’s water usage. Work with a qualified well drilling professional who can assess the appropriate depth for your well and test the water before drinking it.

Another common question is, what pressure should your well tank be set at? The standard rule of thumb is to set your well tank’s pressure at 2 psi below the cut-on point of your pressure switch. So if your well is set up for a high cycle of 40/60 psi, your pressure should be set to 38 psi. If you use a low setting of 30/50 psi, you would set the pressure to 28 psi.

Well pump repair might be covered by your homeowner’s insurance, but it’s typically not. If the damage results from a major storm in your area, flooding, a fire, or some other natural catastrophe, then you should consider filing a claim for the damage. However, if the issue is the result of an aging well pump, your policy will very likely not cover the repair cost. In either case, you should hire a well pump professional inspect your well pump, and then use that information to decide whether or not you should file a claim.
