"Cory and Colton arrived on the time schedule, did a survey on the apartment and quickly started moving the furniture. They were very professional and did the best they could to finish as early as possible."

"Our move on Labor Day was successful. I feel these movers were consistent, polite and worked around my crazy schedule. This move was an out of state move, but they were ery helpful in getting things out of our home in the short window we had. I feel the move turned out great, I would hire them again and recommend them to family and friends."

Small jobs welcome

"I had an excellent experience with Haul Bros Moving! Their pricing was completely transparent from the start, with no hidden fees or surprises, which made the entire process stress-free. The team was incredibly professional, efficient, and respectful of my belongings. What stood out most was how friendly and accommodating they were throughout the move. They took the time to place each item exactly where I wanted it in the appropriate rooms, making unpacking so much easier. Their attention to detail, positive attitude, and outstanding customer service truly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Haul Bros Moving to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and professional moving company. Thank you for making my move such a smooth and pleasant experience!"

Small jobs welcome

"I had a mixed experience with Flex. They were able to get the job done eventually, but they showed up at 10:15 for an 8:00 am move, with no ETA or call to say they would be late. Customer service didn?t provide any real info, they just promised the movers would provide an ETA (which they never did, although they did show up eventually). I get that delays happen, it?s just bad to not give the customer any update, and bad that customer service doesn?t have access to info about where the movers are. The movers seemed a bit lethargic, although they got the job eventually. Some minor scuffing on the furniture and walls. Understandable but not ideal."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Movers wrap furniture in plastic to provide protection during transportation or storage. Plastic wrap acts as a barrier, safeguarding furniture from dust, dirt, moisture, and potential scratches or damage. It helps to keep upholstery, wood, or delicate surfaces intact, preventing wear and tear during the moving process. Additionally, plastic wrap helps to secure loose components of furniture, such as drawers or doors, reducing the risk of breakage.

At the low end, a simple consumer treadmill may weigh around 200 pounds. At the high end, large treadmills made for gym use with lots of bells and whistles can weigh up to 500 pounds. Research your treadmill’s make and model to determine its exact weight before attempting to move it.

There are some household items movers won’t pack, while there are others that are important to keep on your person during the move. Don’t pack the following items:

  • Poisonous, hazardous, flammable, or explosive items, including some cleaners, matches, alcohol, and paint

  • Perishable food items

  • Pets and plants

  • Irreplaceable items and documents, such as your passport, will, and medical records

Moving across state lines is a similar process to moving within a state. Packing, loading, and unloading of trucks will follow the same process. The primary difference is during transportation, where your belongings may be loaded onto a dedicated moving truck or combined with other shipments, depending on the distance. Your moving company will offer tracking and ongoing communication of your boxes.

Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.
