"No one showed up on the proposed date to perform the work. I received a call about a week later to set up an appointment for what I thought had already been scheduled for the week prior. Additionally, my requests for pictures of the contractor's work were not answered. "In October 2014 Mr. Lazo came to look at the task at hand. I showed him what I wanted done and he pointed out a couple of wood rot problems that I had not noticed. Once we finished the walk around, he prepared a detailed proposal - before leaving.
I had also talked with another contractor about the same work. They took several days to prepare a proposal, and when I e-mailed with a specific question the reply I got (from the other company, not George's painting) was not satisfactory.
George mobilized his crew, and they were on the site at 7AM. Because there was rain in the forecast, he brought in a larger crew than original discussed, and was able to finish the job quicker than originally scheduled. The work was great, they carefully cleaned up and  left the house and yard in excellent shape.
I had specifically asked that they not touch one side of the garage because of some carpentry work that needed to be done - I was planning to do it. I was so pleased with the work that they did on the house and the rest of the garage that I asked George to give me a quote for doing the carpentry work on the garage. I liked the price and I decided to have him do it. The carpenter came out today Nov 12th - 7AM again, and took care of the carpentry work and painted it.
I am pleased with the work that George's Painting has done, and would expect to contact Mr. Lazo again in the future if I need interior painting or other painting or carpentry work. I don't expect to be needing any exterior painting.

"I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."

"I am so lucky to work with Mr. Murat and his crew to renew my kitchen, bathroom. It was great experience, they showed professionalism the moment they got into my house. Very responsive, delivered as promised. They also did couple extra work with no charge even it was not included in initial estimate. To be honest, things went better then my expectations. "When we decided to redo our kitchen in April of 2012, we knew what we wanted fixed, our budget and that's about it. We started talking to contractors, kitchen design centers and researching ideas. We quickly realized we were in WAY over our heads. A lot of places offer free design services if you buy all of your materials through them. We didn't want to be tied down. We didn't want a complete tear down to the studs, either. Homemade Design to the rescue! First of all the price was an absolute steal for the service provided. Amanda and co. Listened to what we wanted and came up with inovative,functional and beautiful solutions. Our house is old. We wanted to keep that 1920s feel, but still have a dishwasher, granite countertops and stainless appliances! Amanda had the brilliant idea of only replacing the bottom cabinets. She also gave me excellent instructions on how to refinish my existing cabinets so they look like new. This was a perfect solution for US. Homemade Design gave us ideas for layout, cabinets, lighting, wall paint, appliances, furniture, countertops, backsplash, faucets, sink,and cusions for built in. She would have recommended flooring if we wanted,but we didn't. Now, Amanda is more like a consultant...( I actually called her my kitchen remodel therapist). You still are ultimately responsible for the plan and what works for you. If your measurements are off (like mine were) that's on you. I was adament about no island and no microwave over the stove and so she didn't put those in the design. Some suggestions were not my style. And I said so. Honestly, if I picked out my own kitchen it would be so safe: white subway tile or something. Amanda gave me the guts to mix patterns and create something spectacular! It took almost a year to complete ( contractors fault) We did a lot of work ourselves. We bought the cabinets, backsplash tile, light fixtures, table and banquette cusions through Homemade Design at a great discount, we checked!! If you try shopping for any part of your kitchen, the volume of choices can be overwhelming. We loved having Amanda narrow it down for us. Communication was through email, mostly. She never took longer than three business days to respond to my million questions or concerns. Awesome. 5 months later, my kitchen is a dream come true. And I owe it all to Homemade Design!
