"Ruben was amazing. He was responsive, communicative, worked efficiently and did a great job. We had our entire crawl space spray foamed. He was able to complete the project in 1 day and we’ve had multiple contractors tell us how well the job was done. Would highly recommend them for any insulation work!"

"Evey Step of the project was handled in a professional way. From an e-mail confirmation to look at the job to a phone call to say he was a few minuits late. When I had a question on the estimate Mark Tajima (partner) came back to the house to re measure. The Crew showed up on time, were curtious and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. The clean up was great . I would recomend them to all my friends . Yamil Brito (owner) talked to me on the phome to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and they went above and beyond to fix a damp section of the basement wall. Overall A great experiance."

Insulation FAQs, answered by experts

For standard 2x4 walls, the ideal insulation has an R-value between R-13 and R-15. This level of insulation, typically around 3.5 inches thick, fits well within the wall cavity. Common options include fiberglass batts and spray foam. The best choice for your home can depend on your climate; use R-value maps, like those from Energy Star, to determine the recommended level for your region. For colder climates, you might also consider adding exterior insulation for greater efficiency. Always check with your local building codes to ensure you meet any required standards.

Water heater blanket prices range from $20 to $40 on average, though you typically won’t need to spend more than $30 for all the tools and materials required for installation—which include the blanket itself, heavy-duty scissors, and electrical tape. Blankets with higher R-values will also be slightly higher in price.

Your house may be cold even if the heat is on because of bad insulation, gaps in doors, small holes pulling hot air from the home, or excess humidity. The heater itself might be malfunctioning. For this problem, you’d need to talk to an HVAC pro. If you have a gas heating system (most do) this should be considered an urgent job as natural gas could be leaking in your home.

Single-pane windows might let in the cold, but if you’re not ready for a long-term solution or window replacement, there are quick fixes to keep your space warmer. Start by sealing gaps with weatherstripping or caulking around the frame to block drafts. For an extra barrier, apply window insulation film to the glass, trapping an air pocket between the film and the window. Thick curtains or thermal drapes can also help keep the chill at bay. And if you’re in a pinch and looking to get creative, bubble wrap can provide a surprisingly effective layer of insulation—just spritz the window with water and press it on, bubble side in.

Garden blankets and frost cloths are the best things to use to protect trees and plants from frost. They are made from polypropylene fabric, which is lightweight, breathable, and dries fast. If you can’t get garden blankets or frost cloths before the freeze, you should use lightweight blankets, sheets, or towels.
