Customers say: Quality work

"Larry was very knowledgeable and was able to determine why several outlets werenâ t working. He fixed that circuit and also added a dedicated (clean) line needed for an organ that I recently purchased. Their rates are reasonable and the work was well done. I plan on having them do additional work in the next couple of weeks. I would recommend them for anyone needing an electrian."

Customers say: Quick response

"Kyle showed up on time and , completed his work, and cleaned up after he was done. Had an issue with the height of my light fixture and he showed up the very next day, made necessary changes, and everything works well. While he was here he looked at a smoke alarm issue that I was having and he corrected that too. Very professional and clear in his explanations of work to be completed. I would definitely hire him again"

"Great. Tyler was very professional, did an excellent job caulking the whole exterior of my house and my apartment building. Fixed the leaks around the chimney, and installed drip edge on the apartment roof. Very reasonable rates, and cleaned up all the work areas. I had him come back and stain my 3 decks, he is very efficient and does a great job. I will definitely use his company again for any projects I have coming up."

"It is very convenient, and reasonably priced.  The only thing that they could work on is the punctuality of the pick up times.  The rest of the experience was satisfactory.  My daughter has also used them.  I would highly recommend this service."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

If your ceiling fan is humming, that's usually a sign of an electrical issue. A low-pitched grinding sound could be caused by the motor or a lack of lubrication in the bearings, but a true humming sound will be caused by a failing capacitor or faulty wiring. Unless you have experience with electrical issues, you should call a pro for any ceiling humming noises.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.

Most duct booster fans are not designed to run continuously, though some models can be programmed for constant operation. Typically, they are controlled by the user via a switch, controls on the unit itself, or by being wired to the HVAC system's thermostat. Wiring the fan to a thermostat allows it to run automatically only when heating or cooling is active, which saves energy and is an effective way to activate the fan only when needed to address issues like uneven room temperatures.
