"AJF Construction did an excellent job. The two people who worked on our project, one of whom is the owner, were professional, honest, easy to work with, and very meticulous in the quality of their work. One major part of the project required the disassembly, cleaning, repair and replacement of floor-to-ceiling screens in a screened-in porch. This was custom-built, so each panel only fit its original location, and disassembly was complicated by some settling of the porch. They did a beautiful job on it, and did not paint over any hardware, so the next time it needs fixing it will be easy to do so. The quotes were detailed and there were no cost overruns. They did a great job on everything, kept us informed as the work progressed, and left the site cleaner than it was when they started. We were very impressed. We recently hired them again to replace a slide glass door. They did a wonderful job on that too."

"I needed most of the inside of my home painted, with the exception of one bedroom, which I had recently painted myself. I'm not young anymore and also didn't have the time to tackle such a large project. My house is huge and over 100 years old. I had the business card for Finish Master Painting and Refinishing in my wallet for the longest time...I don't even remember where I picked it up. I gave them a call and Claudio (the owner of the company) came over and gave a very reasonable estimate. He and his staff finished the painting job and also replaced five of my old, drafty windows in just a few days as promised. The workmanship was excellent! I thought I did such a professional job on the one bedroom I had painted, but when I saw their work, I realized that I'm just an amateur. And no more drafty windows! I couldn't be more pleased. One of the many things that impressed me was the minimal disruption. I think that was one of the reasons I put off having work done for so long. I expected a mess; people and things in the way, lots of noise. But that didn't happen. I was actually still able to comfortably live in my house while they transformed it. Hey, that's a pretty neat trick! They were like home construction magicians. I highly recommend Finish Master Painting and Refinishing, and won't hesitate to call them again should the need arise."

"I put most of the information about how my experience went in the "services performed" area -- please read that for the full story.  Overall I was SUPER pleased with the work and the price for the projects I had done.  I was so happy that I am working with Scott to scope out additional projects for our house (custom built in entertainment hutch for the family room, a shed for the back yard, and possible plans to finish our walk up attic space).
We moved to MA from Colorado and had an excellent carpenter there who did many projects for us.  I am happy to find another great carpenter here!

"We ran into an "oh crap" situation during the Holiday.  My husband planned to install an exterior door.  This is something he had done before at our other house.  We encountered numerous unexpected things such as having the vinyl siding screwed into the door frame!  The 2 hour job had become a 4 hour job and to make matters worst my husband was called into work.  I was left home alone with a door partially installed.  I searched Angies' list and made a few calls.  Being a Holiday I wasn't sure if I'd reach a person or not.  Mr. Conway called me back and explained that he was currently on job but would call me later in the day to see if how I was making out.  In the mean time a relative of a friend offered to stop by and complete the job for us. But as promised Mr. Conway called once he was done with his scheduled job.    He offered to stop by and secure the door to at least get us through the night and then he could stop by in the morning.   But as we were talking my friend's brother in-law arrived and began working on the door.  When I explained what was happening Mr. Conway told me to give him a call if we ran into trouble and he would stop by to secure the door for the night. 
His professionalism and concern meant a lot to us.  We are planning on doing some more work this spring and Mr. Conway is the one we'll be calling first!!!!
