"A gentleman by the name of Preston LaBree from Neighborhood Drain came to my house today to unclog our toilet. My first impression when he walked through the door was that he had a great personality. He arrived on time, quickly identified the issue, and fixed it efficiently. I am very happy with the service he provided and will definitely contact him again in the future if we need any additional plumbing service. Way to go Preston!!!"

"We had a blockage in our drain pipes and we feared it was going to cost thousands of dollars to repair. James came right away, found the blockage and was able to clear the pipes in a couple of hours. He also identified the cause, a bow in the pvc leaving the house which we had fixed. It’s been six months and we’ve had no issues. I would highly recommend Snchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning."

"Very friendly and kind and timely. I had a kitchen sink that would not drain and a faucet that kept dripping in my kitchen sink they were able to clear the drain so my sink would drain and on top of that they fix the dripping faucet. The best part is there was not a trace of any kind of work being done as they cleaned up behind themselves perfectly. I would highly recommend them"

"This company is amazing. We have used them several times. I first found them when I had a small leak and no other company would come. They came right anway and fixed it. Every time that we’ve needed a plumber they have responded and repaired or replaced what was needed. They are very courteous respectful and responsible. They are reasonably priced and I’ve never had an issue with anything that they have fixed."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. While it’s often more expensive, it will provide a better, longer-lasting seal than acrylic or latex caulk. Use it along the base of the toilet to prevent leaks and keep the area clean and protected.

The average cost to replace a toilet seal ring is around $50 to $200 if you hire a pro to do the job. If you do it yourself, you’ll only need to pay for the supplies. Wax rings alone cost anywhere from $5 to $25 at hardware stores and can save you a lot of money compared to having a professional installation. At the same time, a licensed plumber knows how to properly install your new wax ring to prevent premature issues down the line.

This rumbling noise after flushing may sound like a hammer or knocking inside the walls. When you flush, it opens a valve so additional water can come in. However, if the valve malfunctions, then this rush of water has nowhere to go, which makes all the excess water hit your pipes and create a loud hammering sound.

Generally, toilet leaking is not an emergency unless the leakage is severe. However, any leakage at the bottom should be addressed as soon as possible because it could lead to water damage to the floors, under the tiles, or into the walls. Leaks at the bottom can also lead to mold growth if unaddressed.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.
