Small jobs welcome

"I couldn’t be happier with the work from AML Landscaping! They removed a large tree and trimmed several shrubs around my yard, and the results are outstanding. The crew was professional, punctual, and friendly. Their pricing was very fair, and they left everything spotless when they were done. It’s rare to find a company that combines skill, efficiency, and genuine kindness — but these folks nailed it. My yard has never looked this clean and professional. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-quality tree and landscaping work!"

"Great job on short notice, the Thursday before Christmas. They were able to remove a tree, do some serious pruning of large branches overhanging my house, as well as a yard clean up and they did my gutters for me too. I would definitely recommend KJAY Tree Service & Landscaping."

"I tried Sod for my yard twice but my German Shepard killed it. I figured I give this a try and it has been two weeks so far and I feel it is one of the best things I have done. Yard looks great and the crew that put it in did an awesome job. They did a lot of work to level out the yard and to secure the turf down. Anyone is welcome to come and check this out in Lowell Ma. "I recently hired HM PRO for several landscaping services, including tree removal, trimming, sod installation, seeding, and shed installation—and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The team was efficient and professional, handling everything with care. The tree removal and trimming were done perfectly, leaving my yard looking clean and neat. They also installed sod and seeded some bare patches, and I’m already seeing a great improvement in my lawn’s appearance. The shed installation was another highlight. It’s sturdy, well-built, and exactly what I needed for outdoor storage. I really appreciated the team’s attention to detail and their helpful suggestions throughout the process. What stood out the most was their communication. They were punctual, courteous, and always kept me informed. Every step was completed with quality in mind, and they made sure everything met my expectations. I highly recommend HM PRO for any landscaping project."

"Last summer I hired Monteiro And Sons to install a new patio in my backyard. They did such a great job, I'm now having them come back to do my front walkway and designing a new landscape for the front."

Customers say: Quick response

"Rueben and his assistant did a fantastic job replacing old wooden railing on my mom’s deck, with PVC. He was easy to contact, friendly, professional, and reasonable. Not only was he able to do the job much sooner than anticipated, but the two of them completed the work in less than a day, including clean up and removal of old materials. I would definitely recommend EBL Landscaping & Construction."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Monkey grass makes a beautiful, low-maintenance ground cover, particularly in shadier areas where other grasses don’t receive enough sunlight to grow. It’s also excellent for edging walkways, bordering flower beds, and accenting rock gardens. You can grow it as a container plant, as well, which is a perfect solution for those who love its foliage but want to contain the spread.

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

You should avoid planting grass, shrubs, plants, and trees in freezing temperatures, as the ground can get frozen and become too hard for proper root growth. It’s best to plant in the fall to allow your plants to establish root systems before the first frost. Landscaping when the average temperature in your area is between 50 and 60 degrees will usually deliver the best results.

Buying plants from a nursery is one thing, but ensuring that they are properly planted is another. While you might not need to hire a landscaper for every plant that you buy from a nursery, it’s a great idea to have their expertise and experience to plant larger items, like burlapped trees or specialty plants like rose bushes. Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.

A scattering of leaves won’t pose a problem through the winter, but a thicker layer of leaves may not decompose before the first frost and can instead weigh down your grass and harbor mold or fungi. A thick layer of leaves also cuts off light and air that grass needs to grow. That’s why we suggest removing thick leaf layers within several days if possible. If your lawn goes dormant over the winter and snow has already caught up with you, then remove the leaves in early spring before your grass-growing season starts so your lawn can thrive.
