"SJ Coverup did a great job putting up wallpaper in our dining room and on an accent wall in our family room. They were very professional, responsive, and did great work. This was our first wallpapering job and I was a little concerned on how well everything would line up with the pattern. We were beyond impressed with how it came out. We plan to wallpaper our powder room and would definitely hire these guys again."

"We couldn’t be happier with the incredible work Alan and Dan’s team did on our home in Needham! From the beginning, their professionalism, attention to detail, and craftsmanship were outstanding. We absolutely fell in love with the wallpaper designs and beautiful color combinations. What really made the difference was the 3D model they provided, allowing us to visualize everything before making our final decisions. It gave us so much confidence in our choices and made the entire process exciting and stress-free. The finished result exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend Alan and Dan’s team to anyone looking for exceptional quality and service!"

Wallpapering FAQs, answered by experts

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Walls should be as smooth as possible before applying peel-and-stick wallpaper. Although you technically can apply wallpaper on textured walls, the peel-and-stick variety won’t last long without a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to. If you have textured walls, consult a pro about removing the textured finish before moving forward with wallpaper.

To pair a unique sense of style with white walls, keep them well-decorated. Hang vibrant art or bold furniture to add color to the room. Add some texture and greenery to the space with plants. Choose accent pieces such as throw pillows or light fixtures with patterns. Having a white wall can be a plus as it allows homeowners to easily decorate their homes as they desire without worrying about clashing with the paint color.

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.

When comparing peel-and-stick and traditional wallpaper, the better choice depends on your specific needs and space. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is more budget-friendly and easier to DIY install. On the other hand, traditional wallpaper lasts much longer and holds up better in a wider variety of spaces, including areas with moisture like kitchens and bathrooms.
