Customers say: Quick response

"Dave & Mark where terrific. They often discussed what they should do to make the changes to our kitchen look like they where always part of the design. Plus kept us in the loop at all times. We kept our existing cabinets, removed an ancient built in oven, replaced the cooktop with a full range, replaced the sink and countertops. The old counter was linoleum over wood, so they had to build up and reinforce the tops for new granite counters. They added molding, which was stained to match the existing wood, and it looks as if it was always there. I can not find enough words to express how great a job they did. You can be assured he will be my first call if/when we start another project. Dave also recommended the electrician & plumber we used. The electrician, Brian Cormier ended up having to upgrade our service and we will use him again if needed. ABH plumbing didnâ t have much to do, but Tony was professional and did a thorough job."

"Flowers Garden Services did a fine job cleaning our gutters. Marisol and Oscar, the owners, showed up right away, gave us a fair quote, and returned in two days to do the job. I will use them again for gutter cleaning and other household services they perform."

"I have been very happy with all of their work. They are always easy to contact and I get a fast response. Their yard work is top notch and their workers are very professional with my wife and my kids. It is clear they have a lot of experience with lawn maintenance and tree service. Flavio has always done a good job and cut me a fair deal."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

A ground-level deck is a great idea for an outdoor space because it’s easy to access and doesn't require stairs or railings. You can install a ground-level deck near your home or farther away on your property. You can place a ground-level deck around a pool, fire pit, or near a view such as a lake, pond, or area of trees.

Yes, Ipe is more expensive than Trex decking—both in terms of materials and installation (plus, Ipe trees are endangered). On average, Ipe decking costs $10 to $25 per square foot, while Trex decking costs $5 to $12 per square foot. Because Ipe is harder to work with, the price of installation is higher, too. For Ipe decking, you’ll pay between $20 and $45 per square foot for labor. However, with Trex decking, the labor costs range from $8 to $22 per square foot.

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.

Yes, an elevated deck can increase a home's resale value. Homeowners can expect a 65% return on investment from the cost of a second-story deck installation. For example, if you spend $5,000 to install a second-story deck, that deck will add $3,250 to the value of your home.

Deck repairs cost around $800 to $3,500 . However, your cost depends on the type and severity of the repair, as well as the type of decking material you have. Other factors, like location and labor costs, impact the price, too. Boards and railings are the priciest parts of a deck to repair, while loose stairs are less expensive to fix.
