"I had several issues, toilet, sink faucet and drain replacement. Also, I had some issues with the drain configuration in the basement, Nick took care of all of the problems in a very efficient manner and left each area clean. I would hire again."

"A gentleman by the name of Preston LaBree from Neighborhood Drain came to my house today to unclog our toilet. My first impression when he walked through the door was that he had a great personality. He arrived on time, quickly identified the issue, and fixed it efficiently. I am very happy with the service he provided and will definitely contact him again in the future if we need any additional plumbing service. Way to go Preston!!!"

Customers say: True professional

" I called A-Affordable Plumbing and left a message.  Rick called me back promptly and set up an appointment to come the very next day.  Rick came over and checked out the problem.  He told me what needed to be done and  what parts I needed.  He went to the plumbing supply house, called me to inform me about the needed parts  and cost.  Rick returned with the parts and repaired my leak.  I purchased a new toilet and Rick removed the old one, installed the new one and even disposed of the old one. I will definitely call Rick for any future plumbing needs I may have.  If you are in the need of plumbing services I would highly recommend Rick.

"Had a clogged toilet that just wouldn’t flush no matter what I tried. Called Honest Drain and they had someone out the same day. He had it fixed in about 30 minutes and it’s been working like new ever since. Can’t ask for much more than that. Highly recommend!"

"Mr. Hollister was great! I was really impressed with his promptness, quality of work and friendliness. The plumbing was the smoothest process for our 2nd floor addition project. Thank you Mr. Hollister for your great work, patience and flexibility! I would hire him again."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. While it’s often more expensive, it will provide a better, longer-lasting seal than acrylic or latex caulk. Use it along the base of the toilet to prevent leaks and keep the area clean and protected.

Ensuring your toilet will fit starts with measuring the rough-in, but there are a few other factors to consider. The toilet tank's height and the toilet's depth should fit comfortably within the bathroom’s current setup. When considering depth, look at the walking space around the toilet to ensure it fits in the bathroom.

If your toilet is still leaking after replacing the toilet flapper, then you may not have installed the toilet flapper correctly. Double-check that you have placed the flapper over the overflow tube correctly, and check the flapper chain is at the right length. If your toilet is still leaking, then you may have another problem on hand. For example, you may need to replace the toilet wax ring or replace the toilet fill valve if your toilet is wobbly and leaking from around the base.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.
