Better Built Basements LLCThis is my second time hiring BBB. Previously, they did over my bathroom & buoy a new one in the basement. This time I had a leaky skylight in the closed in breezeway that has been leaking for quite some time & causing a fair amount of damage. I contacted BBB & got an estimate with work started & completed within two weeks. They gave me a very detailed estimate with a time table on what was going to happen & when. When the job before mind ran late, I got two notices that work would begin a day late. They crew did a fabulous job with new skylights & ceiling that look great. The roof looks like the windows were magically put in with no change to the roof. The crew was courteous, timely & very professional. BBB is my go to for any repair/construction work I need. Mr Fix It HandymanLorenzo is great. Honest, trustworthy, and skilled. He built a large 3 season porch and deck for us this summer and it is beautifully crafted. Vista Home ImprovementVista was on time to all appointments. The job grew from a new roof, to insulating the roof over the cathedral ceiling and bringing a saggy sun room roof line up to code. My husband did a great deal of research regarding products and applications. He asked for their recommendations before stating what he thought should be done. My husband was pleased with the feedback from Vista on the proper way to correct the roof line as well as the insulation alternatives for a cathedral ceiling. Colors were selected and a date was given for installation. Installation went rather well. Vista installed the wrong color drip edge. My husband pointed out the error. Vista stripped the material and reinstalled. Luckily the shingles were not installed yet. In our quote we asked for ice and water barrier over 100% of the roof. He noticed it was only 2 courses up on the roof. This was pointed out and the foreman quickly corrected the problem. The crew was very nice and courteous. As with any construction work, we feel that we need to keep an eye on the progress, so I don't think the errors of the drip edge and ice/water barrier were a big deal. But if my husband was not home, it would have been missed. This was all miscommunication between their salesman, distribution house and construction manager. Overall they did a great job.- Karan M.

Alliance Home Improvement IncWorkers dropped construction trailer yesterday afternoon & began work this AM. Sergei (owner) stopped by and explained minor changes. Workers very professional & courteous. Bad weather pushed timetable back by a couple of weeks. However, Sergei stayed in touch by phone & stopped by with his framer to go over measurements. So far we are very pleased. Sergei mismeasured opening for storm door which is going to require a custom made door. He explained that he would absorb the additional cost. I admire his honesty. Project completed a few days ago except for storm door. Good job, workers cleaned up everything. Sergei stopped by to be sure we are satisfied & accepted partial payment until custom storm door is here & installed. We also had an issue with during heavy rain we had water leaking into the soffet which they repaired with a j channel. I would definitely use Alliance again for any outside projects or repairs.- Patrice H.

Alliance Home Improvement IncSergiy and his crew were fabulous. From the outset, Sergiy exhibited great patience with us as we waffled back and forth on a number of options for both the siding and the addition. He helped us to think through our choices in our own time frame, with our own interest and made himself available to do the work, regardless of our final decision. Once we made up our minds, he moved quickly to get the job scheduled and we took the big risk of having his company begin the work while we were on vacation. While we were away, Sergiy regularly updated us with progress photos and checked in on any minor detail that he thought might matter to us, as the job progressed. As it turned out, without our asking, we had numerous neighbors monitoring the job, all of whom reported back to us that the crew showed up early in the morning, worked non stop throughout the day, and stayed until late in the evening. With a crew with an equally strong work ethic and amiable demeanor, Sergiy's team powered through the entire residing of our home in less than two weeks and had completed all of the framing and rough work on the addition while we were away. As we watched the project move through its final phases, Sergiy and his team remained reliable, punctual and courteous, hitting every item on the punchlist, performing minor additional work without charging us, and just put forth continual top notch effort to fulfill every promise he made at the outset. We are thrilled with the work, really happy with the decision to work with Sergiy and would gladly call upon him for future work.- jeff r.

Dave and his crew do quality work, are most importantly honest, and provide multiple solutions and pricing options to allow for the best fit for your particular situation and budget. Signature Building and RemodelingEstimate was detailed and the named price was what we paid, to the dollar -- no surprises. Dave built us a gorgeous, super well-constructed (city inspector was mightily impressed) space that we spend as much time in as possible. Dave called it a "screened room," not just a basic porch, and he was right. Everybody who has seen it and relaxed in it loves it, too. Throughout the process, Dave was clear and easy to talk with (as was his whole crew). He and they were always patient with our questions and requests for changes as we went along. As homeowners new to the building process, we were anxious and uncertain about many things, but Dave maintained great equanimity and good humor and was always available to us when we needed to run something by him. Everybody was completely professional and very good at their jobs. (The C rating for Punctuality below is mainly because it took a while to get the estimate.)- Mark V.

We recently had a complete roof replacement. Before proceeding, we did comprehensive research of area companies and Vista came out on top, with good reason! All appointments were not only on time but were extremely punctual. We met first with Product Specialist Holly, who was enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. While at our home assessing the proposed job, Project manager Rick explained the entire process in layman's terms. The day of the job, Project Supervisor Marc arrived early and went over the entire job with the crew. All company representatives left us with a business card with their cell #'s to call if we required anything. The installation crew was amazing. They arrived early and began immediately. They were no nonsense, very focused and, worked like a well oiled machine. All Vista team members were polite and respectful of my special request to be cognizant around some of my more cherished trees & shrubs. Vista was fastidious in their care for my home and lawn, not one speck of debris was left behind. Vista, the installation crew, company representatives, everyone, exceeded our expectations. We cannot say enough positive things about Lorenzo and his team. They helped us prepare for the arrival of our first child by finishing half of our basement (our workspace), taking down wallpaper and fixing up the walls of the nursery/bathroom, installing new carpet, and building a beautiful deck with child-safe gates. All of this was complete within a very realistic timeframe and Lorenzo worked with us every step of the way to ensure that we would be happy with the final result. We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Lorenzo and his team, and we will definitely be calling him for any future repairs. My choices were a little limited due to COVID crisis, but contacted 2 highest rated companies on Angie's. First was a small firm who was booked thru the Fall. Alliance has several crews and were able to get to us quickly. First visit was great (David), who provided the quote, alternatives, samples, pictures & addresses of previous work. Price was reasonable. Crew started a couple of weeks later. Very professional and courteous crew of three. Once they show up, they stay to finish the job. Separate gutter crew came shortly after siding was done. Cost was $28,000 for a 2 story cape with shake siding. We love the shake look compared to traditional horizontal siding, esp for a cape house. We highly recommend Alliance.

We just bought a very old house that still had active knob & tube, two wire Romex, some shoddy amateur wiring, and only one room with actual grounded outlets. Our house was full of quirky surprises like random bricks in the wall, plywood between the beams and drywall, and just about any other problem you can think of rewiring a 160 year old house. These surprises meant that it took them far longer to complete the work than their original estimate but they did not charge us more for the added time (though there were new items that popped up that weren't in the original plan that they wrote up new invoices for). Our primary team, Shelby and RJ were amazing, they rolled with the punches, kept us updated and informed, and managed to install a new electrical panel and upgrade about 90% of the wiring in the house with minimal damage to the walls.
