Small jobs welcome

"Frank and his team worked on wiring our kitchen and upgrading our service to 200 amps. Frank took our job on an extremely short notice, but was able to come in within ten days to start. His work ethic is fantastic. He ensured that our kitchen wiring was up to code, and that our electric panel was clearly marked. He was punctual, communicative and pleasant throughout. We would recommend Frank and his team with no reservations, and will definitely use his services again if needed."

"The technician, Steve, called me 25 minutes prior to his arrival. He was extremely knowledgeable about my gas fireplace. He vacuumed all areas. He informed me of the condition of the components. I was prepared to ask him a handful of questions that he was able to answer. My fireplace works very well and I strongly recommend using the Chimney Experts."

"Jesse Camp provided excellent service. He came when he said he would, his estimate of the work was spot on, he was clear about his fee for first visit and fee for any work there on, he kept me informed about his locating parts and scheduling and was timely in responding to questions. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Very pleased and would highly recommend Jesse Camp."

"We hired Alan to replace several outlets in our house and assist with a dryer installation. He was a good communicator, was able to come soon and to work around our schedule, and was a knowledgeable and conscientious professional (he even brought coverings to wear over his boots in the house, a nice touch). I would gladly hire him again and recommend him to others in the Valley."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

One of the first signs of mold in an air conditioner is a musty smell. You're likely to notice the smell when the unit runs, from the air coming out of the vents or the unit itself. You may also be able to see mold growing on the unit, such as near the condenser coils or by the fan. In some cases, there may be visible mold by the vents.

Some HVAC systems tend to use R410A refrigerant, although if you have an older model it may be using R22. R22 is banned due to its harmful environmental and health impacts, and it is a sign that your AC unit is old enough to consider a replacement and the significant efficiency gains that could come with it.

The decision to put your AC unit on the roof or ground depends on the climate in your area, the roof shape, accessibility, and budget. If you live in a warm climate or don’t have existing ductwork, it’s likely best to stick to a traditional AC unit that sits on the ground. However, if you lack yard space, live in a mild climate, and have easy access to the roof, your home may benefit from a rooftop AC unit.

A new air conditioner capacitor will cost less than replacing the entire air conditioner system. While a capacitor itself will cost between $8 and $25, paying a professional to replace an AC capacitor will cost $180 on average. It’s not safe to replace an air conditioner capacitor on your own.
