"I need to talk to someone. I had a signed contract with deposit paid for $840. They were to arrive at 1:00 on the 17th. At 12:30 they called and said the truck broke down. They rescheduled for 8:00-10:00 today the 18th. Then last night they called and told me the contract was priced wrong and the total is now $1679!!!! I had NO CHOICE as I had to be out of the house today for get stuck paying a penalty. They did not show up until noon and took all day! I had tickets for a show tonight and could not go which caused me to lose $160,00! I was scammed with a bait and switch scheme. The movers were awesome but Royal Van lines outright scammed me. "I hired Starline Van Lines LLC for a move from GA to NY, initially quoted $1,930 with a $700 deposit. After correcting the inventory to 124 items, my estimate increased to $5,485 with another $1,000 deposit. On move day, movers from an undisclosed subcontractor, MoveKing LLC, arrived instead of Starline. Despite removing large items, I was told my quote (1250 cf) was insufficient. I was forced to pay an additional $1,892.50 before loading began. Only half the truck was filled, and I was told the rest would cost $1,200 more?even though all items were part of the original quote. Items left behind included TVs, a desk, recliners, and bedroom sets. The mover said they'd return the next day, but as of the 10:02pm of July 4, the move remains incomplete. This reflects deceptive pricing, failure to disclose subcontracting, and violation of moving laws. I request a refund and will continue to investigate both companies."

They attempted to overcharge me the original quote. Long story short, Tower contracted a local company and did a poor job of handing over the job."
