My February 26th move from Pittsfield MA to West Warwick RI went very smoothly. The team of movers lead by Angel and Kenny knew what they were doing and were very efficient in their work process. I would highly recommend GMetz Moving and Storage.

Was told that their insurance would only pay a claim for $100.00. I accepted this offer. I never received a check from them. I repeated called but never got any satisfaction. The move was for over $4000.00. Really unprofessional and petty

the crew was excellent, had no issues and I would hire them again, what they quoted was far cheaper than any other mover I contacted.

Everything seemed to be going great through the morning. The guys did the job fast, and the price was decent. But when I was unpacking, I noticed things were missing. My electric wok, my umbrella, and most importantly, my iMac worth over two grand. I reached out to the company many, many times and they said they would help and track it down. But they would never get back to me. I had to keep calling them. Finally, they told me that the guys didn’t even move a computer, which is untrue because I saw it carried out. One of the secretaries told me the manager would call me when I demanded some kind of repercussion, but I have not heard hide or hare from the manager and the company now ignores my phone calls. I don’t know if one of the seemingly nice movers stole it, if they accidentally left it the truck and brought my stuff to the next move, or they left the truck unmanned and someone else stole it. But I’ve had to file with the Better Business Bureau and have been advised to file a police report against them today. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. The movers are nice, maybe too charming, even. But the company itself doesn’t care about you, or assume responsibility and care of your things when in their possession. It was a terrible experience. I can’t do my work now, and without work, I can’t afford a new computer. G. Metz Moving REALLY screwed me over, big time. They lost items worth more than I paid for their services and don’t care at all.

I had the pleasure of dealing with the employees at G. Metz Moving; They arrived promptly; moved my living room furniture with care; everything was moved without incident or problem. I would recommend them.

The moves were fraught with issues - they were unable, despite two attempts on different days to move a heavy bar unit to the top floor. In the second attempt, I would have expected a crew that could accomplish the job - the movers from the day before should have briefed their boss on the issues and they should have been prepared. They attempted to move the bar and in the process gouged the wooden stairs in many places and dinged up the walls. Additional damage was done to the lawn when the driver of the truck, despite a wide, straight driveway, ran over the lawn leaving about 30 feet of trench 6 - 8 inches deep. All issues were documented with photos and sent to the owner - George Metz. To be fair, he came out to the house, inspected the damage, and repaired the internal damage himself. At that time he took responsibility for the lawn damage and told us he would get a landscaper to fix it. That was in mid-May. By mid-June, I was finally able to connect with him and he asked me to get estimates for his approval since his landscaper was not interested. I did get estimates and passed the least expensive on to him (approx. $450). Since then, he has not returned any calls (at least 8 attempts) nor answered any emails. He also ignored a registered letter sent to him.

The move was the scene of a Dateline Special. The owner, George Metz, is a liar. He makes it seems that he has his own trucks that are clean- he rents his trucks from a truck company and the truck died in my driveway, not to mention ALL my mattress have grease marks on them. The truck he brought to my house was the size of a large size UHaul. Before they started loading I tried telling them my house is not going to fit. Please keep in mind that he toured my house BEFORE the move so he would know what was going. I moved a 3000 square foot home with a 2 car garage and outside furniture. It did not fit, so he had to get another truck and then tried to charge me! He then damaged my property - barely anything was wrapped, a handmade table with my childrens handprints on them is completely ruined. My daughters desk, pictures, mirrors, my son's bike, vacuum, scratches on furniture- all ruined and broken. It is unbelievable the amount of damage that he did to my property. George stated that whatever they took apart they will put back together. Guess what - they movers left everything unassembled and then when I asked them about it they said they don't do that on long distance moves. I still have missing bolts and screws to tables and our Basketball hoop that is sitting in the driveway unassembled and missing parts. They are HORRIBLE!! The worst of it was the day they were supposed to leave I received an email stating they wanted an additional 2 thousand dollars to leave Massachusetts. I had to call the Seekonk police and then the Attorney General's office. I also opened a case with the BBB, so they can look into it and there is ANOTHER complaint on there as well. I paid 8600 and I have spend just as much replacing scratched and damaged furniture.
