"I have now had 4 pickups from this company. Each time it has been with different items: I have had my kitchen remodeled, a deck torn down and rebuilt, a new roof put on, old fencing disc arded, and a yard cleanup. The only difference in pricing was for the roofing and even though ti was more money it was STILL CHEAPER than a dumpster!!! I don't know how these guys do it, but they pickup on time, without issue andfor the cost quoted. I have turned each of my contractors onto them - now they are using them. SO MUCH cheaper and better service than any dumpster company I have used!"
"He was super nice and informative. He warned me about what to put down the garbage disposal. I did not have to use him since I ended up fixing the issue myself."
"Brandon and his crew are fantastic! My wife and I are totally satisfied with his job. We did a total makeover of our kitchen and pantry, about 300 square feet total. Job included gutting to the studs, wiring, plumbing, insulation, blueboard & plaster, painting, cabinet install, custom shelving in pantry and bookcase, hardwood floor repair and refinishing. All of Brandon's subcontractors were quality people as well. Brandon made a schedule ahead of time, and held to it, even when other contractors (countertop install) threw 'monkey wrenches' into the schedule. This is very important to you when you are eating off of a hot plate! From start to finish, Brandon communicated everything very clearly and responded promptly to any calls or emails. No major project goes without minor glitches, but Brandon stood behind his commitment at every turn, and made sure every part of the job was up to our very high standards. He handled all the paperwork and permitting with the town seemlessly. His price was very reasonable, significantly less expensive than other quotes, yet his work was top-notch. I would not hesitate to recommend Superior K&B to anyone for their project. "
This was about as seamless a kitchen renovation that one could ever hope for. Dave listened carefully to the goals we wanted to achieve in our kitchen, and was patient with the design adjustments we wanted to incorporate as we considered each version of the design plans. One cabinet in particular that was added toward the end of the design process was brilliantly conceived on his part--a cabinet to store large items that looked like a lovely piece of dining room furniture, with exterior shelving and drawers. It is a centerpiece in the kitchen. Dave was careful to preserve important walk ways in our kitchen so as to not create bottlenecks--an important element in this centrally located kitchen. His advice on style and color of cabinetry was also highly valued in our desire to achieve a cleaner and brighter look, yet one that was still consistent with our 1931 Colonial.
The Brookhaven cabinets are beautiful and well-made. While they are pricey, Dave was able to steer us to take advantage of a manufacturer's discount. The selection of hardware that was available without incurring additional cost was completely adequate, and we took advantage of this option.
Installation of the cabinetry was smooth and timely. We decided to make a last minute change to the placement of our microwave, which necessitated the order of a new drawer. This took longer than we had hoped, but understood that this was not a Kitchen Center issue, but rather one of the manufacturer, as each items is custom made. When the drawer arrived, it was without a front--this added more time.
Once the cabinetry was installed, irregularities were minimal. Dave and a service that works with him tended to adjusting hinges, covering screw heads, and painting areas that needed to be smoothed.
Overall, working with the Kitchen Center exceeded our expectations. Communication and responsiveness were excellent. They partnered well with our contractor so that there were no glitches or last minute surprises--almost unheard of for a kitchen renovation. The quality of the design and workmanship has made for a space that we are loving, and our only regret was that we did no redo our kitchen sooner!
"Alex and his team (Geoff - plumber, Bruno - electrician) did an outstanding job. Alex responded to my initial query to Angie's list within 10 minutes..... so fast! He then had the plumber, Geoff out there within several days. Geoff was superb. He replaced the disposal and sink faucet and drain, upgrading the plumbing to code in the process. Thus, the robustness of our plumbing was greatly improved by what Geoff did (bringing our plumbing to code required raising some valves, and converting some metal/plastic interfaces to metal/metal). We did run into one problem, which was that the disposal switch developed a short circuit. Alex quickly had an electrician (Bruno) come by. Bruno did an outstanding job, working quickly but improving the electrical box by adding an extra switch. Thus, once again, the entire system was improved by their high quality work. Geoff in particular ended up spending more time than initially anticipated, so the price was double what was initially quoted, but I felt that a lot more work was done than initially anticipated, the work was high quality, Geoff and Bruno both worked quickly and hard (taking no breaks), so ultimately I felt that the cost was well worth it. Very fair. Alex also manages everything from afar, and does a great job. He responds immediately to subsequent calls and has an excellent interaction style. I would definitely hire them again and strongly recommend them!"
"Chris gave me a very reasonable price to install the laundry in basement . The job was done quickly, inspection passed. I am very happy with his work. I will definitely hire him again!"
"It was a very positive experience. Dave responded to my inquiry within 2 minutes and came on a Sunday, within 4 hours of the phone call. The situation was very much under control the whole time, as Dave brought with him everything that the project required, including a replacement pump. He was professional and efficient, and the work space was clean after the installation was complete. I would recommend Dave and will likely call on him again for future projects of this type.

"I had a really great experience working with Obie. I priced out a number of HVAC companies and Obie beat them all hands down. I went with Obie mainly, however, since he did all of the original HVAC installations in my home as it was being built, and I had a good experience with his company servicing my setup over the past 5 years. The fact that his quote was the best was a bonus. On the day of the installation, Obie came with a large crew of workers with him to take down my oil boiler/tank and replace it with a natural gas boiler. I felt reassured that his team was taking great care of us, and they handled the installation skillfully. His crew was very courteous, respectful and helpful. They left my house clean and orderly after the installation also. After a number of delays on the part of National Grid, who had to make numerous modifications to the new gas line that they just brought to my house (resulting in a 5 week delay!), Obie continued to work with me to make my installation as painless as possible. Certainly, the most frustrating part was working with the gas company, but Obie made sure we were taken care of during the transition. Anticipating that there would likely be delays with the gas company, Obie lent us a temporary electric water boiler that he piped into our plumbing so that we would at least have hot water, which was a lifesaver. Obie and his team, in particular Ilija, Jason, Ezat and Dinello, are all top notch. It is clear that they all are passionate about their work, and most of all that they truly care about their customers. Never once did I get the feeling that my house was just another job to be completed. Obie and his team always made us feel that my family and I were being taken care of. To let a company do any kind of complex installation in your home requires a lot of trust. You are counting on them to properly set up equipment so that you and your family can have heat, hot water and air conditioning. Obie has not let us down, and he has earned my trust. I would not hesitate for a moment to hire Obie if I had to do it all again, and I recommend him very highly. Beyond the skill of his organization, it is the human element and the care for his customers that makes Obie comfort solutions truly exceptional."
"We needed a creative solution for my hot water needs, but had to operate within several structural limitations. We considered several options and found the best one for me. With the dishwasher and garbage disposal, they were at my home within one hour of my desperate call. These are good, reliable guys! "
Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts
If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.
Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.
Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.
On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.
You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.
