"I had two large trees removed, and a whole lawn cleanup. They were very fast and careful. One of the trees was very close to a neighbor's house, and the removal was very well done."

"I've had a couple contractors come and analyze what I wanted done. 1 contractor wanted to start the project in February which is harder to do and threw a ballpark figure out to me of $30k. Than sent me an email stating he had guys available in March that could do it for $10k. That was sketchy to me. Another contractor from this site came out and wanted to do less than what I wanted and didn't want to crawl under the porches to do the job because they was only 36" of head space. His quote was ridiculously low. Henry came out, listened to exactly what I wanted done. We went over the whole scope of the job and it definitely wasn't no small job. He said it's probably going to be around X amount which I had already planned for prior. He emailed me a quote within 24 hours and I accepted it, I'm glad I went with his company because they were there every day for basically 2 weeks from 8am-4pm doing the job. Great work and I'm very satisfied. The uploaded pictures include before and after"

"Mynor and his crew showed up on time and trimmed tree limbs beautifully in tough areas of the tree. He and his crew trimmed, cleaned and disposed of all material and did a professional job in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this company. Give them a try and you’ll see what I mean."

"Angies list matches me up with a snow plow service so far away from where I live that it was useless to contact them. A guest List use to be a great service. Not so much anymore"

"We hired Jose to clear our driveway for the season and are very pleased after the first snow. He came twice to clear and everything was just as we asked when we got up on Sunday morning. We are happy to have such a responsive contractor."

"We were looking for snow removal. After looking at some other choices from Home Advisor, and based on reviews for their main work, masonry and landscaping, decided to call. Eddie called back immediately and we set up a time to meet. We thought his estimate was fair and hired him. First job today. We are pleased and look forward to working with him through the snow season. He is very willing to come automatically after a 4 inch snowfall and with a quick call if we need to get out right away. A bonus is that his business is very close by locally. Thanks!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Generally, the cost of ice dam removal is not covered by homeowners insurance because it is often considered preventable maintenance. However, the damage caused by ice dams is frequently covered. Depending on your policy, this can include interior water damage, roof collapses, and damage to shingles. Coverage for personal belongings affected by leaks may vary. It is important to check your policy details or contact your insurer to confirm what your plan covers. Keep in mind that any damage resulting from a DIY attempt to remove an ice dam will likely not be covered.

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.

Both rock salt and ice melt are naturally occurring salts. Rock salt is sodium chloride, which is the same as table salt. Ice melt products can be made from a combination of salts like magnesium chloride and calcium chloride or can be those salts alone.

Rock salt comes in large crystals, so it helps provide traction on icy surfaces, whereas ice melt products need to be mixed with sand to provide traction. Ice melt products work at lower temperatures than rock salt, so they might be a better choice if you have a harsh winter climate.

It’s the reverse of home de-winterization. To winterize, you purge your plumbing system (including your water heater and all piping) of water. Some experts also recommend filling fixtures with an antifreeze solution. Other tasks involve winterizing sprinklers, sealing foundation vents, check weatherproofing around doors and windows, and more.

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.
