"Entire team did a great job on our basement project. The project included removing mold from basement walls, applying sealant, covering walls with wire mesh and then cement. Also, dug out dirt floor and installed a concrete flooras well as, installing lolly-columns and replacing rotting ceiling beams. All the workers were polite, respectful of our property and a pleasure to work with. We would gladly hire again!"

"I recently hired Triple 7 Excavation to handle the site work and preparation for my new patio, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and clearly took great pride in their work. They arrived on time, communicated clearly throughout the process, and made sure every detail was done right—from grading and drainage to the final cleanup. The crew worked hard, respected my property, and delivered exactly what they promised (and then some). The patio area looks fantastic and was completed on schedule. It’s not easy to find a contractor who combines skill, honesty, and great customer service, but Triple 7 Excavation absolutely does. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality excavation or site work done the right way."

"The work done was very professional. The completed project was exactly what we wanted. We needed stone moved. Loam brought in and reseeded. We also decided we wanted to add arborvitaes after the project was started. This was no problem at all. He was very flexible and accommodating to make all the adjustments. This project came out great. Very impressed with the work."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The cost to drill a well varies, with a national average of around $5,500 for a 150-foot well. However, prices can fluctuate significantly based on several factors, including your location, the required well depth, geological conditions, local regulations, and the specific drilling methods used. For the most accurate cost assessment, it is best to research and get quotes from local well-drilling professionals in your area.

Trenching is a specific kind of digging. Trenching means digging a depression in the earth that’s deeper than it is wide, often with heavy machinery. Digging refers to any kind of removal of earth in order to create a human-made depression, hole, or cut in the earth’s surface. You can dig with big tools or even with just a hand shovel.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.

Yes, you can excavate in the winter, but it might make the job harder. Frozen ground is harder to dig, and snow or ice can make the work site more hazardous. A contractor may need special equipment and techniques, such as ground-thawing methods, to break through frozen soil. Although winter excavation is possible, it may take longer and be more costly than excavating during warmer months.

No, a ditch isn’t a trench. A ditch is an open, relatively shallow channel that’s carved out of the ground and used for drainage purposes. In contrast, a trench is a deeper excavation that’s entirely underground. Trenches have many uses, including gas lines, sewage systems, and electrical wiring. Unlike trenches, ditches don’t get filled back in with dirt after they’re dug.
