"Hired David Pierre, his crew and sub-contractors to install a new bathroom, remodel an existing bathroom, convert an attic to living space, install spray insulation, and rewire our 180 year old house in Plymouth, Ma. David impressed me with his professionalism and straight-forward approach, and I was not disappointed. Honest and committed to the end. Construction jobs always seem to take longer than expected, and this was true here, as well, but I think it is due to the nature of the business -- coordinating the schedules of several subs and dealing with unanticipated issues, especially when working on an old house. David juggled it all well. His core carpentry crew, Paul and Derek, were skilled, dedicated and responsive to requests. They kept the ball rolling forward. Good quality work at reasonable prices -- it would have cost me substantially more to use one of the larger home remodeling firms and I probably would get far less top-level attention."

"However, as of Monday it will be almost a week since I have heard back and the only feedback I got was a promise to get back to me by the end of the day with a quote after I EMAILED HIM!
I have had so many handmen and contractors not call me back, or are unavailable. I was really excited to find someone and get started.
I felt like it shouldn't take this long to get an estimate on the work and I would rather be told straight forward that the project would not be big enough or the schedule did not work. If I am having this much trouble getting an estimate, what about the work?
We are trying to decide whether or not to put our home on the market and this price weighs in our decision."

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

In Fall River, keep a dehumidifier to manage coastal humidity, neutral paint for quick touch-ups, and wood polish for restoring original floors. Use mildew-resistant cleaners for older homes, slipcovers in light coastal tones, and updated lighting to brighten rooms. Caulk and wood filler help address minor repairs, while modern cabinet hardware and fresh landscaping supplies boost curb appeal for local buyers.

Helpful?

In Fall River, combining home staging with targeted upgrades—like repainting in neutral shades, restoring original woodwork, or updating entryways—can make your property stand out in the local real estate market. Coordinating projects with area professionals often streamlines timelines. Enhancing curb appeal with native plants or addressing common issues in historic homes can attract more buyers and maximize your home’s value during peak selling seasons.

Helpful?

If your Fall River home has been staged but feedback mentions outdated décor, mismatched styles, or a lack of local character, it’s time for a refresh. Staging that doesn’t highlight unique features—like original moldings or coastal views—can fall flat. If your home has been on the market through a season change, updating the staging to reflect current trends and buyer preferences is recommended.

Helpful?

In Fall River homes, water stains, musty smells, or peeling paint may signal underlying moisture or ventilation problems common in coastal areas. Sticking windows, sagging floors, or visible cracks can indicate structural issues, especially in older properties. If staging furniture is positioned to hide flaws or quick fixes are masking persistent problems, it’s wise to consult a local expert before listing your home.

Helpful?

Your Fall River home is ideal for home staging if it features historic charm, unique architectural details, or is located near the waterfront or revitalized neighborhoods. Homes with awkward layouts or those competing with new developments in the local real estate market also benefit. If your property has lingered on the market, staging can highlight its potential and appeal to buyers seeking move-in ready homes.
