"I had a great experience with AVID Energy Solutions from start to finish. The crew did an amazing job working in the attic, took great care of my siding throughout the project, and made sure the entire house was spotless before leaving each day. The team was extremely friendly, professional, and very detail oriented with the entire scope of work. They took the time to explain everything I needed to know before the job started and made sure I understood everything after the work was completed as well. You can really tell they take pride in their work and care about customer satisfaction. I highly recommend AVID Energy Solutions to anyone looking for quality work and a professional crew."

"This pro did a nice quality job for the most part friendly, clean, shoes off while in the house, the blower door test was great. The thermal imaging was a bit lacking no actual thermal imaging gun but some kind of app on his phone not worth what was charged for it. All in all house is pretty tight with just a couple questionable areas that I can take care of I would recommend the blower door test for sure."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Dehumidifiers typically use 300 to 700 watts of electricity per hour, whereas portable dehumidifiers use about 40 watts per hour. The exact amount of electricity your dehumidifier will generate depends on its capacity and energy efficiency. Generally, higher-capacity dehumidifiers generate more electricity than lower-capacity units, but they also usually have better energy efficiency over the long run.

ENERGY STAR®-certified windows are the most energy-efficient windows on the market. This certification means that the window meets strict efficiency guidelines set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. While they might cost more upfront, they can save you money on your energy bills in the long run. ENERGY STAR®-certified windows lower household energy bills by an average of 12% annually.

Upgrade to double-glazed glass or apply energy-efficient coatings to reduce heat loss and utility costs.

Hawaii is currently rated as the most expensive state for utilities. How much are utilities for a house in Hawaii? With electricity costs in Hawaii totaling nearly 42 cents per kilowatt-hour, residents are paying more to run their households than any other residents. Electricity costs in Hawaii are so high, mostly due to the fact that most of the electricity available to residents is produced using oil that must be shipped in from other places.

Window AC units use a fair amount of electricity, but significantly less than central AC systems. Because they are more energy-efficient for cooling individual rooms or small spaces, their usage is comparatively low. On average, a window AC unit consumes between 500 and 1,400 watts, while a central AC system uses over 3,500 watts—meaning a window unit uses about one-third of the energy. This typically translates to a monthly running cost of $15 to $40, although this can vary depending on external factors.
