Instead, a young guy with what I took to be an Eastern European accent waited on me. He was a nice guy but really could not understand English very well. He didn't really understand what I wanted done, although it should have been obvious to a real tailor -- just fix the jacket so that it fits me properly. When I asked him to fix wrinkles in the upper back, he had no idea what I was talking about. I asked him if he or Roma would be doing the work, and he said he would be doing it but he would ask Roma what to do. This was not a good sign. Then I asked when Roma would be in, and he said he didn't know, "He comes when he wants." In the end, I took my jacket back and decided to find another tailor. I get the idea that Roma isn't really involved in the business anymore but instead entrusts it to someone who isn't qualified. Therefore I don't recommend using him anymore. This so called "quote" included a lot of work that wasn't necessary and was DOUBLE the amount of money of what the other two plumbers had gave me. There were two major failures of Finn during the inspection, both which he actively attempted to conceal.
During the inspection there was very little discussion about a problem whose severity should have been obvious to him (if it wasn't obvious to him, he has no business being a home inspector), but as an unaware homebuyer was unnoticed by us. Acting as an agent of our employ, he had a duty to accurately report this issue and he failed to do so. In addition to not verbally informing us of the issue, Finn also downplayed the issue in his report. After moving in and becoming aware of the problem and the multiple obvious signs of it, we spent thousands of dollars to fix. The second issue involved Finn repeatedly turning off the heat while attempting to test how the heating system worked. After initially turning on to test, after only a couple of minutes you could feel one of the radiators begin to warm, so Finn turned off the heat. Since it had not been running long and no other radiators were yet warming and wanting to see how well the entire system worked, I turned the heat back on. Finn came right behind me and turned it off again. This happened twice. Obvioulsy, after we moved in, and I ended up paying hundreds to get leaky values in the steam heating replaced, and discovered why he was so quick to turn off the heat off. I hired this guy, and he actively hid a problem from me! I can only assume that he downplayed the issues as not to ruin the sale for the realtor who recommended his services and from whom he probably gets a lot of business. Make no mistake, this guy works to get your realtor the sale, not to protect you as the homebuyer. MLS ASAP charges you a small, one-time flat fee to enter and maintain your home's 'For Rent' and/or 'For Sale' listing in Massachusetts' Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Our flat fee MLS listing does away with the Seller’s Agent (Listing Agent) and in turn eliminates his/her customary three percent (3%) commission (listing fee) for representing and marketing your home - lowering the cost of selling your home by 50%. With our flat fee MLS listing, you reserve your right to sell your home to a buyer, who you have procured on your own (without the assistance of a Buyer's Agent). In which case, you will have benefited from MLS exposure without paying a commission to anyone.

FAQs for real estate service projects in Egremont, MA
Yes, hiring a real estate agent is worth it. Many homeowners make the mistake of trying to sell their homes by themselves, thinking that they’ll save money on the commission, but what they save on the commission, they very often pay for in frustration and concessions on the sale price. Hiring a real estate agent to handle the sale of your home not only makes the process far easier and takes the burden off of you, but most homeowners get more for their homes when going through an agent because of the marketing and salesmanship they bring to the table.
Real estate agents work on commission, so the cost of hiring an agent will depend on the cost of the home you’re buying or selling. The listing contract should include information about the commission for both agents, which is usually 6 percent of the sale price in total or 3 percent per side. With an average national home value of around $440,000, the typical commission per agent is $13,200. However, you won’t pay this total out of pocket. Instead, the commission comes out of the sale price of the property.
Interviewing real estate agents is the best way to find the right person for the job. Consider asking the following questions to find the best agent for you:
How will you show my property?
Will you do open houses to market my home?
How will you handle dual agency (representing the buyer and you as the seller)?
Should I make repairs to my home before listing?
Will you get professional photos taken of my home?
What is the best price you think we can get for my property?
How long do you expect the sale to take?
You don’t legally need a real estate agent as a buyer, as you can represent yourself, but you should always hire an agent as a home buyer. A professional real estate agent will have access to local MLS services to find homes that meet your criteria and needs, can connect you with other professionals—like a mortgage broker and real estate attorney—you’ll need for the purchase, and can often negotiate a better price for your home to help save you money. Plus, as the buyer, your agent’s commission comes from the seller’s proceeds from the sale of the home.
