"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently hired Everlast RoadTech to pave my 20x55 gravel driveway, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with their work. From the first consultation to the final layer of asphalt, their team was professional, punctual, and incredibly efficient. They provided a clear breakdown of the process, addressed all my questions patiently, and even helped me explore sustainable material options, which I appreciated. The crew showed up on time, worked seamlessly, and completed the job ahead of schedule. The end result? A smooth, durable surface that looks fantastic and already stands up to New England weather. Customer service was top-notch, and I’d absolutely hire them again for future projects. If you're looking for reliable, detail-oriented paving experts, Everlast RoadTech delivers."

Customers say: True professional

"I had three outdoor jobs that required excavation work (removing several large trees & two old barns that had fallen down, along with fixing an issue with flooding on our property). I am so lucky to have found Brian! He and his brother worked very hard, very fast and resolved in one weekend all of the issues that I needed fixed on my property. They made sure I was happy and even cleared away some extra brush that was not part of the original request, just so things would look nicer. I could not have asked for a better contractor to work with! I plan to hire them again next year for the next phase of projects I have coming up. I would recommend their excavation services without hesitation."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional from the first call to the finish. He was extremely accommodating and thorough in explaining all that is involved with the different type of sealers. He was the only one who took the time to do this. He did a wonderful job and takes extreme pride in his work as well as very careful with our property. Would recommend him to everyone"

"We hired Mr. Waterman earlier this year to remove a stone wall, grade and pave the area behind our house. Halfway through this process I asked him about adding a garage. So we agreed that he would install a two car steel building for a garage. To say that he and his crew have done an OUTSTANDING job would be an understatement. Mr. Waterman and his crew not only did an excellent job with the paving but our new garage as well. My wife is ecstatic that she has a warm place to store her car this winter. I would recommend this company for any and all home improvements!!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

An asphalt driveway should be at least 3 inches thick over a compacted gravel base. Areas with poor drainage should have a thicker stone base. To install a new asphalt driveway over an existing driveway, the new asphalt should be at least 2 inches thick and the existing driveway should be in relatively good condition.

The most common causes of sunken pavers are poor base preparation and insufficient compaction. The problem could also be how your pavers were installed. If the soil beneath your patio or walkway wasn't compacted, it will pull pavers down as it settles. Additionally, using bare soil instead of making a paver bed with compacted gravel and sand can cause sinking over time. To fix sunken pavers, consider recompacting the base and addressing any drainage or erosion issues in the area.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.

Pavers will crack in a fire pit if they are made of the wrong materials. Be sure to use kiln-fired brick paver stones when building your backyard fire pit. You can also purchase a fire pit project kit, which will sometimes come with fire-safe pavers, to help you avoid the guessing game of buying pavers separately.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.
