"After calling a big name junk removal company & put on hold a few times, was informed that they do not service my town. I went to HomeAdvisor.com and called Hollywood Junk Removal. Steve responded immediately and was at my house within a couple of hours to get the job done! Would definitely recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional and responsive. I called them and they set up an appointment same day. I ended up laying sod myself, in my back yard and Cam was very helpful and knowledgeable of what I needed to do, even had tips on too maintain after the sod was laid. After that, I had a lot of yard waste to be removed from my driveway and Cam came and had it done in an hour at a very fair price. He cleaned up and left the area spotless. Would trust them with my lawn care any day."

Waste Removal Services questions, answered by experts

The cost-effectiveness of renting a dumpster versus hiring a junk removal company depends on the amount of junk you have. For a few individual items, junk removal is often cheaper, with average costs ranging from $140 to $380. However, for major cleanouts or large home improvement projects, renting a dumpster may be the more economical choice. Dumpster rentals cost an average of $300 to $480 per week. Junk removal companies typically charge based on how much space your items take up in their truck, so the cost can increase significantly if you have a large volume of debris.

Yes, technically, styrofoam is recyclable. Some polystyrene foam products have a “6” symbol and can be set out with your regular recycling. However, recycling most styrofoam requires a special process, which may or may not be available in your community. It’s often not accepted in curbside recycling pickup, but you can research if there are any locations available near you offering the recycling.

Small amounts of wallpaper can be thrown away in your household trash. If you’re removing a whole home’s worth of wallpaper, you may need to contact a waste removal company, rent a dumpster, or schedule a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste removal service. Wallpaper isn’t recyclable, so no matter which method you choose to dispose of it, make sure it doesn’t get mixed in with the recycling.

Yes, a mattress will fit in a 10-yard dumpster. While a 10-yard dumpster is a compact roll-off dumpster size, it can still hold about 60 standard trash bags or 5,000 pounds of waste. They're ideal for small demo or renovation projects, appliances or furniture, and yard waste.

Demolition is a project that involves heavy machinery, skilled labor, and hazardous waste removal. It can also take multiple weeks to complete. Plus, it’s a dangerous job. The machinery itself costs a lot of money, as does the time of the people who are operating that machinery (and the training they receive to do so safely). Certain hazardous materials, like asbestos, can cost up to $25 per foot for removal.
