"Tim and his helper arrived on time and proceeded to efficiently take care of reviving a stagnant garden fountain. Tim clearly knows all about water features and offered suggestions for its continued maintenance. He even went and purchased several rice fish and introduced them to their new home. Both young men were courteous and careful taking time time to prune back overgrown bushes and branches. I highly recommend them for any work on fountain and pond construction and maintenance."

"Joe Bumbaca takes his work very seriously. He will commit to a job come hell or high water. Extremely loyal to his clients. Joe was recommended to me by Ken Brown of New England Nurseries. Ken was the father of my Koi Pond experience. Have Koi which are 30 years old. Will not compromise as these animals are dear friends. Could not recommend a more talented and loyal expert in terms of Koi management."

"Jeremey did a terrific job on our two-car attached garage, which had both structural and cosmetic issues. He is incredibly conscientious. There was a lot of scope creep with this job because we kept finding things that were wrong or needed doing. One of the things I like the best about Jeremy was that he was able to roll with the changes without issue, and he had no trouble with my hanging around, and pitching in, which I enjoyed. To be sure, Jeremy did all the hard work, but at times it felt like we were working together and he was able to handle that without issue. We conferred every day of the job and made adjustments to what work would be done on the fly. The end result was Jeremy took care of a lot of things that neither of us had anticipated going into the project. I helped out by supplying some materials and the paint. Make no mistake: my involvement was my doing, not Jeremy's. I'm sure that is not his usual way of working. In addition to the carpentry and handyman skills, Jeremy is a great painter. It's sort of rare to find someone who does both of those things well. When Jeremy left everything was clean, completely finished, the last paint was drying and I was completely satisfied with the work."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Even if you empty your pond before the winter, there’s a good chance it will refill naturally. It’s ideal in most cases, then, to leave water in your pond and winterize it instead. This method will prevent ice damage and protect wildlife. Plus, it’ll lessen the steps required to reopen your pond in the spring.

Placing your water feature in direct sun can speed up evaporation, leading to pump damage and algae growth. Shade or partial shade serves as the ideal location for most water features—just watch out for tree and plant debris that may fall in and clog the pump.

Algae growth is a common issue for misters, but you can do several things to prevent it. First, use a sealed water tank with distilled or filtered water to fuel your misters. Second, blow out the misters after every use so no water is left in the tubing. Third, thoroughly clean the misting system every several weeks of use at minimum during the warmest months. Third, wherever possible positioning tubing and the water tank away from direct sunlight and in the coolest areas possible.

Most outdoor water fountains and features do not use a lot of electricity, typically consuming between 100 and 250 watts per day. The size of the fountain's motor can impact its overall electricity usage. To reduce energy consumption, you can use a timer to automatically turn the fountain off at night or when you are away from home. Additionally, installing solar power components can help lower electricity costs after the initial investment is recouped.

Seeps and springs form when groundwater reaches the earth’s surface. The main differences between them are the amount of water and the flow rate. Seeps are smaller than springs and consist of water that’s stagnant or flows slowly. Springs contain more water and flow more quickly.
