Small jobs welcome

"Preston from Neighborhood drains was the 3rd drain company that came out to my home for the vent clog in my roof drain. They didn’t even go onto my roof where the problem originated. He went up on my roof and cleared the vent drain and the blockage cleared out. If you have a drain clog give Neighborhood Drains a call. Preston is a true professional, honest, and reasonable rates. I’ve had a lot of work done around my house having hired many different companies and he was simply the best guy that I’ve encountered."

"The service we had was to have a slow-running drain unclogged. The work was fine and as we expected. Our complaint would be that we paid twice what I thought it would cost to clear one drain. The only reason we went ahead with the work was that the drain had been clogged for several days and we just wanted it cleaned. we will not be going through Angis list for our next service."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog. For this reason, main line clogs tend to take longer, usually between two and three hours.

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

Yes, continuing to flush a clogged toilet is not likely to break up the clog. Instead, it will continue to put pressure on the clog while filling the bowl with more water, which can potentially cause the toilet to overflow—leading to an even bigger mess. Rather than repeatedly flushing, use a toilet plunger or plumber’s snake to dislodge the clog.

To keep your toilet from clogging, you can use less toilet paper. You can also use a liquid toilet plunger to break up any clogs and keep the toilet drain and pipes clear. When it comes to a clogged toilet, the best route is prevention by using less toilet paper and making sure the mechanisms are all working properly.
