"RHW plumbing came out when my sewer was backing up into my house, they snaked the line and put in a clean out, I haven't had and issues with my sewer since. I also called them to install my new faucet in my kitchen, it works great and didn't take them no time to install it. I called them again when my waiter heater was leaking in all over my laundry room floor, they took out the old one which had busted and installed a new one. I will only use them for my plumbing issues. Great guy, friendly and helped me understand what was going on threw the whole process"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Regular inspections, maintaining proper grading around the foundation, and keeping gutters clear are advisable. Vapor barriers and sealants may need checking for wear after several years.

There are several small, inexpensive upgrades you can make to upgrade your basement. Although you still need to adhere to building codes and obtain permits when necessary, you can complete small but mighty tasks like painting the masonry walls and installing entertainment devices to make the space more usable.

Whether your homeowners insurance covers slab leak repairs depends on your specific policy and the cause of the leak. Many policies cover slab leaks resulting from a covered peril, such as a natural disaster, a falling tree, or pipes freezing and bursting within the slab. However, damage caused by invading tree roots, corrosion, or leaks from appliances may not be covered by a standard policy. It's a good idea to also check your home warranty plan for potential coverage if an appliance is the source. Contact your insurance provider for a full explanation of what your policy covers.

Yes, it is generally unhealthy and can be dangerous to live in a damp basement. The damp air can negatively affect your breathing and lungs, and the moisture promotes mold growth and pest infestations. Inhaling mold spores or waste particles from insects and rodents attracted to the moisture can be hazardous. This damp, moldy air can also circulate into your main living area. It is crucial to resolve any moisture problems and implement preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

Crawl space foundation problems can stem from a few different issues, but the most common are moisture and water problems and soil instability. Moisture and water issues are often a result of poor drainage, which can lead to water intrusion and soil expansion and contraction, leaving your foundation under added stress. A few things can cause soil instability, including poor drainage, karst landscapes and resulting sinkholes, and poorly compacted soil during construction.
