"The work that was done was done very well. However, there were patches that had not been filled with sod. About a 1/3 of the way along the side of the garage, it just stopped - nothing. After having a new patio put in, no sod was placed between the patio and fence. When we called to complain, they came out and covered those areas with pine straw. No attention to detail, very disappointed. The workmen were all very nice."

The design of freeze-proof faucets ensures that the water in your outdoor spigot properly drains from the pipe to avoid freezing. These designs keep the outdoor spigot pipe from bursting and protect you from related plumbing repair costs, such as ice building up in connecting pipes and water damage in the area around the pipe.

There’s no way around it—a burst pipe is often a homeowner’s worst nightmare, and the situation can range from semi-serious to dire. If you don’t catch the leak, it can lead to thousands of dollars worth of water damage.

At best, you’ll notice a burst pipe quickly, turn off your water supply, and use a wet vacuum to clean up minor flooding. A plumber can repair the pipe, and you won’t be left with a major bill.   • If the pipe has very tight threads, as the tape would prevent a proper connection

  • If the pipe threads are damaged, which would prevent the tape from providing a watertight seal
