"I’ve had Arrow for almost a year and have only seen a tech once. Yet I’m still being charged quarterly. I spoke with someone who assured me that a tech would come out on Friday and when I called back to make sure they were still coming I was informed that the appointment was moved back 2 more weeks. Meanwhile I find termites around the inside perimeter of my home and still nothing. I will be calling for a refund of all my funds. If I could give zero stars I would."

Rats are the most active at night, from late evening through the early morning. These nocturnal creatures forage for food and explore their surroundings in the dark, when it's quieter and there's less human activity. You're less likely to see them during daylight hours, as they usually stay hidden in walls, attics, or other secluded areas. Spotting signs like droppings or gnaw marks is often the first indication of their presence, rather than seeing the rodents themselves.

It can be difficult to know what type of animal is in your attic until you see it. But several clues can help you narrow down the suspects:

  • Droppings: Rats and mice leave small, rice-shaped droppings (the rat’s version is significantly larger). Bigger droppings belong to larger critters like raccoons. As long as you’re not squeamish, an image search can help you identify what you’re seeing in your attic.

When in doubt, take photos of damage or other evidence and show them to an experienced pest control pro.
