"Marcio did a great job on my steps. We encountered some unforeseen problems, but he took care of those items and completed the job above and beyond my expectations. This is the third project that he has done for my home, and I will continue to call on him when I need work done."

"I would recommend them.  They did a good job, and were nice. I have 12 foot ceilings which they didn't realize, but the owner came through and had them do it Asap. Thanks Able Home Improvement.  I would use them again.  I am thinking of putting in wood floors at some point so I will call them.

"I hired them to put new roof on my rental property in uptown New Orleans and needed it completed within one month (by the end of July 2021). I was concerned it might not get done in time due to the non-relenting daily rainstorms, but we eventually caught a break from the rain and Wade got the job done in two day and came in on time and on budget. The roof looks great and the workmen did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. I have also looked into having them replace all the old wiring in this old apartment duplex and the person they sent over to give me a quote seemed very knowledgeable on just how to get it done in just a few days and to consolidate electrical boxes and wire runs so that looks better after than it does now. "They gutted out the old sheetrock, fixed the framing issues, electrical, plumbing. Installed new insulation, sheetrock, flooring, doors, windows, new bathrooms, new kitchen and appliances, and painting. The project went smooth and was finished in four weeks.

"The salesman was very nice, and he made sure that everything was done properly.  The installers had had a few problems, but he corrected everything.  I thought their price was excellent, and the quality of their work was very good."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Handypeople usually don’t hold trade licenses, so they typically aren’t qualified to tackle projects involving installing or making alterations to plumbing or electrical lines. Below are some jobs that a handyperson usually won’t be able to complete:

  • Installing plumbing for a new kitchen or bathroom

  • Replacing plumbing pipes

  • Installing or repairing septic systems

  • Running new electrical wiring

  • Installing a subpanel

Check reviews, compare quotes, and verify licensing. Ensure the builder has experience with modular construction.

It’s typically more cost-effective to move a building along with its accessories than to demolish and rebuild it from scratch. However, that’s only if you can move the accessories without damaging them. However, if you plan to demolish the accessories anyway, it is advisable to do so before the move to save costs.

Remodeling a house is often less expensive than building a new house. You can expect to pay an average of $100 per square foot when you are remodeling. The cost to build a house averages about $150 per square foot. When remodeling, though, some rooms cost more than $100 per square foot and some cost less. Use a home renovation cost estimator to accurately estimate your remodeling costs.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.
