"Completely removed and rebuilt the main service meter and panel, along with a sub panel in the shop. Handled getting the permit and contacting inspectors pre-install and upon completion. Real cool, Christian fella. Loads of knowledge and experience. Easy to work with. Very thorough and prompt. All the while, giving the best price of numerous bids. I, myself, am a home remodeler/handyman, and this may have been the most pleasant experience that I have ever had with any sub-contractor. This will be my go-to electrician in the future, and I 100% recommend hiring Mr. Thomas of TC Electric"

"I called him and told him I was having problems with my A/C. He came right away told me what my problem was. He was very informative about my options on what needed to be done. He changed out my whole unit the next day. I couldn’t have asked for better work to be done or customer service, and very affordable. He will be the only one I use for my A/C needs from now on. Highly recommend"

"The work and customer service was good but the sales person told us would be called and informed of the progress of the supplies received. Etc and that did not happen. We had to call to get updates. The installers were very efficient and kind and the shower is very professionally installed. We are very pleased with the end product"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

The process typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the project size and level of customization.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.

Building permits serve a few purposes, the most important of which is to keep you and the people around you safe by ensuring your contractor does work safely and to code. Permits also help your municipality tax your property appropriately, as taxes are based on land improvements and the upgrades you make to your home. Finally, permits ensure your project won’t have a negative impact on the environment or your neighbors.
