Small jobs welcome

"Tim of Know-A-Guy Landscape Management did a fantastic job of leveling our yard where a tree came down. It was a large area for a yard, about 1000 sq ft. He did a fantastic job! Now we can mow instead of weed-whack. Not only did he level the ground, but he picked up debris (old roots) and moved excess dirt to another area by the driveway that needed filling in! He has a lot of other jobs, but did well communicating when he would come. I would be happy to hire Know-A-Guy again, and to recommend him to others!"

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

ALTA/ACSM surveys are the most comprehensive type of land survey and, as such, tend to be the most expensive. These surveys have standardized guidelines and reports and are used in many kinds of real estate transactions to ensure consistent and accurate information is available for properties.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

A land survey defines and records the physical aspects of a property, including its boundaries, dimensions, easements, features, and sometimes topographical information. In contrast, a land appraisal determines the property's monetary value. While an appraiser will often consult a land survey to understand the property's physical specifications, the survey itself does not determine the land's value.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

You can’t build on undeveloped land without preparing it for construction, which involves running utilities to the site or accounting for private utilities like wells and septic systems and grading and compacting the soil for safe construction. Once you prepare the land, you can build on it as long as the project abides by local zoning regulations.
