"I am very satisfied with the results.  The new AC works great and I am much more comfortable now than before with the old unit.  The Installer Team obviously planned the job before starting as the results showed not only reflected excellent workmanship but a professional installation.  The installation was finished and working the same day it was begun, so that night was very comfortable sleeping.  The clean up was complete.

You can save money on heating oil through a combination of improving home efficiency and smart purchasing strategies.

Home Efficiency and Usage:

  • Improve Insulation: Ensure your home, especially the basement and attic, is well-insulated and sealed against drafts to prevent heat leakage.

  • Manage Your Thermostat: Use a properly calibrated and programmable thermostat. Lower the temperature by a few degrees, particularly when you are away from home or asleep.

Purchasing Strategies:

  • Buy in the Off-Season: Order heating oil during the summer months when prices are generally at their lowest. This strategy is most effective if you have a large primary tank or a separate storage tank to accommodate bulk deliveries.

  • Consider a Delivery Contract: Some companies offer contracts with a set price for the term. This can lead to savings if market prices for oil increase, but you might pay more if prices drop.

An expansion tank must always be installed on the supply side, which is the side where the boiler sends water out to heat the systems. That placement allows the water to push against the air and condense properly as it is heated, then circulated through the system. If you go to turn it counterclockwise and it won’t turn anymore, it’s open. Like most other valves, you should be able to turn a radiator valve counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (right) to close it. To close a radiator valve, turn it clockwise until you meet some resistance and can’t turn anymore, but do so carefully to avoid breaking the valve.
