"I called Eagle Construction to find a solution to water intrusion into my kitchen during heavy rainstorms. The company's representative, Dustin Arnaud, visited me promptly to give me an estimate. During this visit, he asked to look in my attic. He pointed out that I needed to replace my AC ducts and add insulation to the attic space. i was aware of the need for this work, but it was not my priority. He told me that he would include improving my gutters without charge if I agreed to replacing the AC ducts and adding insulation. I agreed. The attic work was scheduled and performed promptly. I have no complaint about the work done in the attic. However, before any work was performed on my gutters, Dustin insisted they be paid for the attic work. He assured me that the gutter work would be handled promptly as soon as needed supplies could be ordered. i paid the company. At this point, Dustin informed me that he could not do any gutter work without additional charge. We argued and I relented. I agreed to pay an additional $475. Several scheduled appointments for the work were missed. Finally, Dustin's brother showed up to do the work. I was told to make the check out to Dustin Arnaud, not Eagle Construction. Approximately half the work was done when it started raining and the work was halted. It took several calls and 3 or 4 missed appointments before the work was finished. At the beginning of this process, I expressed doubt as to the proposed gutter solution would actually fix my problem Dustin assured me that if it didn't work, he would have a drainage expert design a sub-surface drain to help channel water away from my home. After the next heavy rain, I informed Dustin that rain water had again gotten into my home. It has been several weeks and I have never heard from Dustin or anyone else at Eagle Construction again."

We are from Louisiana, young and driven & went to college in Canada and started a painting company in Montreal, we have moved back to Louisiana after many years and are expanding down in Louisiana, we’re family owned and have great prices and are willing to go the extra step to satisfy our customers. Our prices are great and greatly reasonable for turn around for apartments or just regular maintenance such as drywall repair.

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

The primary downside of radiant barriers is their limited effectiveness in cold climates. They are designed to reflect radiant heat, making them less beneficial in cooler conditions where heat retention is more important.

Radiant barriers require proper installation to maximize effectiveness. Incorrect placement can lead to minimal benefits. They also do not provide insulation, meaning they should be used in conjunction with traditional insulation for optimal energy efficiency.

DIY installation is feasible with the right protective gear and knowledge, but professional installation ensures full coverage and maximum efficiency.

Just how long insulation lasts depends on the type of insulation you use. Fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years, but it's important to start checking fiberglass insulation around the 15-year mark. Spray foam also has a long life span of up to 80 years, while mineral wool can last up to 100 years. Although eco-friendly, cellulose only has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.

R-value stands for resistance value and is a number assigned to insulation that states how good the insulation is at heat transference (insulation). The R-value of injection foam is around 4 which homeowners will be happy to know is actually quite good. Another benefit of injection foam versus fiberglass foam is that the colder it gets, the more injection foam retains its resistance properties, whereas fiberglass tends to lose its efficiency in colder temperatures.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.
