You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

You have a couple of options when it comes to lubricant. A silicone-based lubricant is a great choice because it lubricates the door and prevents rust and corrosion from forming. This type of lubricant also lasts a long time and works well in extreme cold and heat, making it ideal for garage doors. Other products you can use include lithium grease and silicone spray. Avoid using heavy, oil-based lubricants, as they can promote debris getting caught up in your garage door tracks.

It’s usually a good idea to use a metal primer before painting a metal garage door, and, even if you do, you’ll need a paint that’s specifically designed to coat metal for the best results. Metal primer helps create a good surface for the paint to stick to your metal garage door, and it will help prevent bubbling, chipping, and peeling after it dries. Your epoxy garage floors will last two to 10 years, depending on foot traffic and maintenance. Clean your floor regularly with a mop or a power washer using a diluted ammonia or degreaser solution. Use five ounces of ammonia per gallon of water or a half-cup of degreaser per gallon of water.

Also, sweep regularly, clean up any spills right away, and install mats in places where you expect the most foot traffic.
