"Hank’s was prompt, efficient and affordable! I had several piles of branches that would have taken me weeks to get into the trash. They removed them in under an hour. It was pretty remarkable! He said he’d make it disappear and he did! I will definitely use Hank’s again."

"We have utilized Smith's Tree care in the past and after hurricane Ida we called them. They came to the house wasted no time removing 2 trees and a stump. Conduct themselves for future relationship and referrals."

"I was very happy with his service. In all he removed 5 stamps; one up against a building and four stumps which were located along the fence. Given the difficulty of the job he did an excellent job. Removing the wood chips was part of the negotiation so he brought a few helpers to get the job done."

"Paige Freeman got back to me promptly to arrange a viewing of my property.
Despite the rain he came out to give me a quote on full yard (jungle) clean up.
I was very happy with his quote compared to another local neighborhood landscaping company trying to charge me 4x as much.
Freeman's men came out on a Monday & everything was finished when I got off work - all brush offsite.
Paige looked over everything with me & even came back later in the week to cut some vines I pointed out didn't get all trimmed.
My one regret is I didn't cover my fountain as I think a blower was used & I have lots of leaves/twigs in my fountain now.
Be clear these guys are (Arborists)TREE trimmers - no weeds were cut as a landscape company would do.
I was very please with Paige's communication & speedy service. My jungle is gone!

"They removed a LARGE Hackberry tree that was rotting and likely would have fallen into the middle of my house if we had been unlucky to see any hurricanes this season. They trimmed all of my other oak trees on the property and 2 large crepe myrtles away from my house. They were on time very professional and cleaned up all traces of the work. That included filling in the huge gaping spot the tree had occupied.Very pleased with results"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

It may be possible, but transplanting a large, mature tree can be a tricky project, and some trees handle it better than others. If you have a tree you need to save and are considering transplanting it elsewhere, we highly suggest calling a tree removal service and arranging a consultation to see what they say (and how much a full transplant would cost).

Not every arborist climbs trees, but most will do so if that’s the best method for assessing or treating a tree. Arborists have a variety of tree climbing gear and safety equipment to choose from when climbing trees. Consult your local arborist about their tree-climbing plan if your service requires that type of task.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.
