Small jobs welcome

"Bill was very responsive and professional. He was prompt and went out of his way to come and install a door sweep/weather strip before a rain storm. The job was done well and he backs up his work by offering to come back if there’s any issues. We would hire him again."

"Scott was very efficient and did everything I had asked him to do. He also gave me some advice on additional work that may be needed when I sell my home. He was very polite and cleaned up after every fixture that was installed. My new light fixtures look great. Very happy with the service."

"We contacted Bob on recommendation from another neighbor. He came over and we went through the work we wanted performed. He came back with an estimate quickly and time frame for the work, both which we were very pleased with. We did have to call him back a couple of times to set the date but once we spoke with him we scheduled the work accordingly and we emailed him our paint color choices. He showed up on the first day to power wash the exterior of the house to remove any loose paint and green mold on the house. The crewman took a closer look at the shutters and said they may not be able to be repaired properly. He and his crew showed up the following days and Bob explained on each of those days what he was going to have them do (exterior first then interior) and directed his crew accordingly. Bob also determined that one of the shutters had too much damage to be repairable and recommended replacement of all of them at our discretion. He did remove the original cost of the shutter repairs from the estimate. All work was completed quicker than we expected and they did exactly what they said in the estimate. We are very, very pleased with the excellent work that his company did. The repair for the garage ceiling was done so well that I couldn't tell there was any damage in the first place! His crew was neat, professional, courteous and they cleaned up everything when done. I would highly recommend Bob to anyone and we will definitely use him for further work.

"Excellent follow-through and great communication! Fixed my AC quickly and affordably. I am very thankful that I found Mr Honey Do through a local neighborhood Facebook group. He came highly recommended by a lot of people, and I felt super confident before he even showed up. That is the hardest part about finding repair people — wondering if you have the right person who is going to find the correct problem and offer an honest/fair solution. He is your guy! I plan on using him for other projects . I'm Thankful that he does almost any type of work .I have an old house and it is terrifying when something breaks and you don’t have someone you call regularly!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, a bathroom fan lasts between five and ten years. The fan's lifespan depends on its quality, installation, and frequency of use. You can extend its life with regular cleaning and by promptly addressing any issues. Common signs that you need a new fan include mold growth, a burning smell, unusually loud noises during operation, or lingering odors in the bathroom. If your fan is no longer working as well as it once did, consider replacing it. The cost to install a new bathroom fan is typically between $240 and $550.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

While ceiling fans are built for regular use, running them continuously without breaks can lead to overheating and wear over time. If your fan has a thermal shutoff feature, it may stop running to protect the motor. To extend their lifespan, it’s best to turn fans off when they’re not needed.

Whole-house fans cost significantly less to run than a window AC unit. You'll pay an average of $0.01 and $0.05 per hour to run a whole-house fan compared to $0.06 to $0.88 per hour for the cost to run a window AC, depending on its size and the size of your home. They also use far less electricity than traditional central AC units.

Duct fans in HVAC systems last an average of 15 to 20 years. Because these fans operate in relatively controlled environments, they can maintain their efficiency for a long period of time. To maximize the lifespan of your duct booster fan, have your HVAC system maintained regularly.
