"Great job washing the house and communication. He is very courteous and a hard worker. But chemicals are too strong for the plants and are affecting the plants. Leaves are affected and dropped in 3 days. I have to wait to see whether the plants are going to completely die. He guarantees replacement of the plants, if they die."

"Gary & his crew were very professional & hard working. My husband & I were thoroughly pleased with all of the services he provided. He was willing to pick up the mulch for us, pull our weeds out of 3 flower beds, pulled the weeds from under our river rocks surrounding the gardens, & pulled up some flower bushes that were damaged from the winter. Nice clean up work & he even hauled off the debri! He’s worth every penny! Other lawn services required a minimum job of $1200 or more but we didn’t need that much work done. I highly recommend Gary’s services & would definitely hire him again in the future. Thanks for being awesome Gary!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is generally safe to have a fire pit on a deck, but you must adhere to building codes and take several safety precautions. For both built-in and freestanding models, you must use a heat-resistant barrier, such as a fire pit pad or heat shield, between the pit and the deck. Additionally, consider the weight of the fire pit and ensure your deck can structurally support it, reinforcing it if necessary. The fire pit must also be positioned a safe distance from your house, particularly from materials like vinyl siding, to prevent heat damage.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

Composite decking boards aren't your only options for building a deck. There are several other types of materials for decks, including wood and aluminum decking. Wood decking comes in many different wood species, offering natural beauty and classy timelessness to your yard. Aluminum is a lightweight, water-resistant, and low-maintenance material that is also non-slip.

Yes, you can build a pool deck yourself, but it takes precision, a lot of time, and many specific tools. You’ll need to create a deck plan, be careful with measurements, cut each piece of wood, secure the pieces properly, and ensure the deck meets building codes. Building a deck around a pool is a rewarding DIY, but it’s time- and labor-intensive, so thoughtfully consider your abilities and the time you have before embarking on this DIY.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.
