"Katon and his company team at Brash Industries did a fantastic job in constructing our outdoor kitchen. The turnkey project involved demolishing an old shed and then creating in its place a kitchen that included a grill, refrigerator, sink and ample cabinet space. The woodwork is beautiful. He also made a customized bench that doubles as additional storage & it blended in perfectly. He put in several outlets as well as lights, a fan & TV. Our granite counters look great atop of bricking that he added a white German smear coating to. Roofing & gutter work was all professionally done. I canâ t say enough good things about working with Katon. He is willing to work with you to tweak any changes that arise and makes sure you are satisfied. Cost was very reasonable. We couldnâ t be happier with results. They exceeded our expectations."

"They worked very quickly. There was an issue with getting into my indoor unit so they had to tear out and rebuild part of the wall. You canâ  t even tell there was work done there and they corrected the problem for any future use. Great work, great team!!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Roaches have a strong sense of smell and are repelled by a variety of potent aromas. Scents that can help deter them include citrus (such as lemon and orange), herbs like peppermint, mint, basil, thyme, and oregano, spices like bay leaves, cinnamon, clove, and garlic, as well as lavender, eucalyptus, citronella, tea tree oil, and vinegar.

You can use these scents in several ways to create an unwelcoming environment for roaches:

  • Plants: Place mint or lavender plants in your home or garden.

  • Powders and Leaves: Sprinkle garlic powder or place crushed bay leaves and citrus peels in high-risk areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and entry points.

  • Sprays: Create a diluted solution with scents like lemon or vinegar to spray in your home. These can also be used in cleaning products or as room fresheners.

  • Essential Oils: While essential oils of these scents can be used, be cautious as they can be toxic to pets if inhaled.

It is important to note that while these smells can help keep roaches away, they typically do not kill them and may not be enough to drive out an existing infestation entirely. For best results, combine these scent-based deterrents with regular cleaning. Be sure to clean up all food spills, crumbs, and dirty dishes promptly, and keep trash cans covered with a tight-fitting lid to remove potential food sources.

Earwigs are omnivores, so they have a varied diet. Generally, they feast on decaying organic matter, leaves, flowers, and vegetables. They’ll also eat other insects (dead or alive) like aphids, sowbugs, and mites.

Bleach and freezing are your best bets here. The soft exoskeleton of spiders and spider eggs is no match to household bleach. Create a mixture that’s half water and half bleach and spray it directly onto the egg sac, and the spider eggs will be killed in less than five minutes. Freezing the egg sac or drowning it in cold water is another option.

Honey bees are most likely to swarm during spring and early summer, typically from April through June, as colonies expand and prepare for new growth. Swarming occurs when a hive becomes overcrowded, prompting the queen and a group of worker bees to leave in search of a new nesting site. During this time, you may notice a temporary increase in bee activity around your property.

A temperature of 131 degrees Fahrenheit for 72 minutes will kill bed bugs. Research suggests several different ranges, but many suggest starting at 120 degrees Fahrenheit and maintaining that heat for at least two hours. Steam cleaning is an exception because steam comes so hot it can quickly kill bed bugs and their eggs, making it a good option for fast extermination.
