"Camphor Tree Service met and exceeded all of my tree service needs. Junior was very professional, courteous and punctual. I would absolutely recommend his company to handle all your tree service needs. Camphor cut down a 25ft tree, grounded the stomp and removed all debris from the worksite in less than 1 hr from start to finish. I would hire Camphor for all my tree service needs."

"The service provider came to the house and estimated the work. There is nothing derogatory to be said about the service provider. The quoted price appeared high so a second quote was obtained from Matt's Tree Service. The quoted price from Freeman Tree Service was significantly higher( 4 times higher by $ 2K) than the quote that was accepted from Matt's Tree Service."

"J and S Tree Service was top notch.  Scott came and gave a very reasonable estimate the same day I called him.  They were able to fit me into their schedule the following day.  Scott and David arrived on time with all of their equipment needed for the job.  They were very professional and exceeded all of my expectations.  When the job was complete, all debris was picked up and removed.  J and S tree Service did a great job and will definitely call on these guys in the future.

"I've hired a tree trimmer at least once a year for the past few years since my trees have grown so large. I have a very large pin oak, two live oaks and at least 5 gum trees. The company I hired last year did not remove two large limps hanging over my roof and a hanger that was dangerous. After I got a price from them for this years work I took him into the back yard to show him the 2 large limps he had forgotten before . He said he would get back to me. Never heard from him again so I picked Lagniappe Trees off of this site. I was impressed with Jamie's first inspection and his price was inline with the two others I had gotten. His crew was very professional and he supervised all of their work and explained some things to me as he did the work. He even photographed some damage squirrels were doing to those vents on top of the roof and what I could do to remedy the problem. They spent a lot of time cleaning up and it looked pristine when they were finished. I was very impressed and would recommend them to anyone. They were fully insured and had workman's comp which is a must to do work on our property."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Palm trees aren’t much different than your typical tree removal. Removing a palm tree is a standard procedure as long as pros have the proper tools and supplies. For DIYers, however, there are some risks associated with palm tree removal. Palm trees have spiky fronds, bark, and patches of hefty wood. So, it’s best to let an experienced tree service pro remove a palm tree.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large.

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.

If this sounds like a good option, learn more about how to burn a tree stump before attempting it, as it does come with risks.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.
