There were serious problems on all of the projects. Issues: - Every project took at least a full week longer than the estimated completion date. - Vanity: The backsplash to the vanity wasn't made of concrete, it was drywall faux painted to match. I discovered this about 6 months later when it started falling apart. - Shower: The grout in the shower has started pitting and falling out, in some areas it's gone entirely. Threads from the tile backing is poking out through the grout. The bathroom floor was damaged (looks like a metal can scratched the finish), and the workmanship can only be described as very poor - clear demarcation lines of the tiles, tiles are not level, some areas are sunk deeper into the wall in other areas bulge out. The glass partition was not installed flush with the tile nor was it caulked. Whenever I shower water runs out underneath the partition and in between the partition & wall. I was also advised that a door would not be necessary but unfortunately it is. I now need to install a door because the overspray is hitting the wood entry door & causing damage. - Electrical: Came home to QT cups and food wrappers on the counter, urine in the toilet, dirt/dust on every surface, and conduit/wire scraps/small parts in every room. Tools and work carts were left behind. Drywall repair was necessary due to running the wires (something I was advised of and expected). The repair job was badly done - the patched area was wavy and pitted. The patching in the dressing room was adequate. The worker did not use a vacuum when sanding and there was drywall dust EVERYWHERE. Problem resolution: Bath vanity: Callegari subcontracted this job out. To their credit, once they saw the backsplash was made of drywall they readily agreed to pay to have another backsplash made. Regardless, it was a hassle to get another contractor to pull it out and make another one. I did not have use of my bathroom sink for a week. Shower: When I had them come back and take a look at it they emailed me back and said 3 employees looked at it and they didn't see a problem. I had to take part of the day off to meet them - Evan Harding & Nick Callegari, owners of this business. I showed them areas of the shower where grout was was falling out or missing entirely. Their response was it wasn't a problem because there's backer board behind the tiles. They said they would send a person to patch the areas where it was falling out - unfortunately that's the entire shower. Not only will it look terrible, I seriously doubt the job would be done correctly. Callegari is refusing to reimburse for the shower. For $4,000 I now have a shower that leaks all over the floor, sheds grout, looks terrible and may be allowing water to get behind the tile. At this time the issue is not resolved and will very likely end in litigation. Electrical: I did not complain other than asking the owner to have the employee(s) remove their tools. Was simply grateful to have him gone.

There were four people in our party, two in each room. ON checking in our room, we looked for cups or glasses and did not find any. There was a coffee maker in the room, so we did not think it was unreasonable to have some disposable cups available. We asked at the registration desk and were told that some would be sent. We never received any. Also on the first day, the other half of our party asked at the registration desk for another towel for their room. They were told that one would be sent by room service, but it never was. On the second day, the other room ran out of toilet paper and asked for another roll at the front desk. THEY WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO MORE TOILET PAPER AVAILABLE. I reported a leak in the bathtub in our room, and found the registration staff to be completely unconcerned over this problem. The hotel building was under renovation and we had been informed of this when we made the reservation, so there was no grounds for complaint over obvious recent regrouting and other repairs in the hallways. Mr Steven Settoon (owner of Settoon Glass Works/The Powder Coat It Shop) does NOT keep his word. While this man obviously has had many unfortunate problems in his life since we've done business with him; we did business WITH A BUSINESS! Out of kindness, we waited. Out of compassion, we again waited. Mr Settoon got very upset when my wife explained that we've been very patient. It has been Mr. Settoon that has used his personal issues as an excuse for his business.
If you're looking for a business that will take your money, gives you a product that initially looks great but immediately begins to rust, excuse after excuse than this is the business you're looking for. However, if you want good quality work, a business owner that doesn't give you an endless amount of personal excuses for his business than I highly suggest you skip even getting a bid from this business. Challenging repair
Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.
The average cost to install glass block windows is about $710, ranging from $460 to $1,000, depending on the size and design of the window, installation type, and location.
Different styles of glass blocks also impact the cost:
Clear glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Colored glass blocks: $25–$40 per block
Acrylic glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Wavy glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Alpha glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Ice glass blocks: $20–$35 per block
Diamond glass blocks: $20–$75 per block
Frosted glass blocks: $30–$35 per block
Typically, glass block windows last about 15 to 30 years, slightly less than regular windows, which last 20 to 50 years. Resealing glass blocks can help extend the lifespan of this bathroom feature. The key to ensuring that glass block windows last as long as possible is to have a professional glass block installer place them. Glass block pros will have the skills, tools, and knowledge required to install these special features into any space, noting obstacles like damaged windows or too-cramped areas during the consultation.
Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.
