Small jobs welcome

"they mow my lawn on a weekly basis from spring, summer, and into fall. They are by far the best, prompt, on-time, and will give you a heads up if they need to reschedule far enough in advance. Great customer service! I pay him through Venmo that makes it easy when I am out of town."

"They were prompt in coming out to assess the job as well as getting the job done at the agreed time. The other tree service that was contacted either never called or didn't call to set up time to come to see what needed to be done. So I figured they were either they were too busy to bid on the cutting, grinding and removal one 1 tree. Action Tree Service was great and the price was very fail."

"Very professional and fast at their job. The owner came over to quote the job on a Saturday afternoon, by Monday afternoon the tree was gone and I mean gone, like barely able to see where it was prior. Price was extremely fair for the tree size. Would highly recommend TreeTime for any of your tree work."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard.

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!
