"I contracted them through a company called Lowes.  They came when they said they were going to come and measured precisely with no mistakes.  Installation was a breeze and they were very cordial when I contacted them.  If I had any questions I was able to ask them without any difficulty.  It was a good experience with them all the way around."

"Excellent. Manuel is one of the most professional people I have been assiciated with. The sink reglazing that he did for me was not night and day, but more like exceptional. I have seen this job done and nothing can compare to the job he did. Certainly looks like a brand new sink. I would certainly recommend him to anyone."

"I live 700 miles away in Florida and called Northshore Repairs to help an elderly friend of mine back home. Stan replaced her 30 year old kitchen countertop and installed a gas stove and new tile backsplash. He was professional, came by when it was convenient for her and easily worked out the payment details with me by phone so my 84 year old friend didn't have to worry. He explained everything clearly and gave me a fair price for a lot of work. I'd definitely use him again and highly recommend him."

"Flooring by Rushing is not just courteous and professional, they are the best Iâ ve ever seen! Iâ ve had the opportunity to build a couple of homes and I really particular when it comes to workmanship. Ben is one the most particular guys I â ve ever seen when it comes to installing flooring! Our floor is not only amazing looking but also flawless when it comes to workmanship. He makes sure that ever cut is virtually perfect! He also kept everything clean and tidy as he installed our new floor. One special request he completed for us was to self level our living room into our kitchen so that there was no transition. It was done so weâ ll that I canâ t even remember where that transition used to start! If youâ re wanting one of the best for your floors, youâ d be crazy not to hire Ben!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put hot pans directly on Dekton without causing any damage. Dekton countertops are extremely dense, which makes them highly resistant to heat. This density also makes Dekton nonporous and water-resistant.

Installing new kitchen countertops costs $1,850 to $4,450, with an average price of $3,140. Some materials, like marble and granite, are more expensive than others. Additionally, the size of the countertop impacts the overall price. Labor accounts for 10% to 20% of the overall project cost. Add-ons, like edging and corner treatments, also increase the cost.

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

Small kitchens benefit from simple, blunt countertop edges, as complicated edges can create visual clutter and be more of a hazard if you bump into them. Eased edges are a top pick for small kitchens because they are simple, do not jut out, and do not take up additional space. Bullnose edge countertops are also popular because of their rounded design; they are elegantly simple and will not be sharp when you bump against them. Single-beveled edges are also a good choice, as they look a little more upscale but still have rounded edges for safety and simplicity.

Corian® is a popular countertop alternative to quartz. Created from an acrylic resin and natural minerals, Corian® resembles quartz and offers some similar benefits, but it comes at a cheaper price. Corian® countertops cost an average of $26 to $65 per square foot, which is less than half of what quartz countertops usually cost. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.
