The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. It can take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to fill the average pool with water—and that’s if you use a couple of garden hoses. A water delivery service can fill your pool in one to three hours. Some services even pre-treat the water so it’s swim-ready as soon as it’s filled.

You can avoid pool collapse—known as pool pop in an inground pool—if you follow the instructions on how to drain your pool safely. Wait for a temperate, dry day and slowly remove the water with a sump pump, hose, or the attached drains and hydrostatic plugs.
