"Josh and Marty went the extra mile to get my sink draining properly. I own an older house with cast iron pipes. We were initially afraid that the pipe underground had come undone. They went the extra mile to get the pipes cleaned out so that my sink is draining faster than ever. They were honest with me that I may still need to get a camera guy to see if I need to fix anything under the house and how expensive that would be. They installed a new clean out cap and showed me how to take it off if I ever had problems and needed relief temporarily. These guys were great and I would definitely ask for them the next time."

"quick and easy. toilets draining very slowly, previous pump of tank from other vendor did not remove solids so tank filled up in 4 months again because old field failed (inadequate size). so thigpen put in additional smaller tank with pump to send to the ditch. came out next day after i called to diagnose, then back in a few days to dig and install. it took two guys over a few hours and problem solved. price as expected. guys professional and friendly. would use again."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

A clogged sewer line is not typically covered by homeowner’s insurance, though some sewer line issues are covered. For instance, damage related to a fallen tree is usually covered. Though sewer line replacement is not covered in a standard insurance policy, some companies offer add-ons for this purpose. Read the fine print before spending your own money.

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).
