"Excellent. Probably the best experience I ever had with any contractor ever. As soon as I posted my job, they called me back and set up an appointment to give us an estimate. Answered all the questions we had. Advised on some many issues we were not even aware of. Helped with coordinating the colors. Since we were about finish our flooring, they were able to schedule the job for the coming week. Promised and lived up to their promise that they will finish the job in three days. They would come on time and stay until they finished. Never cancelled, never left the job site. Mr. Johnson was there every day to walk us through the house and show us what they did. Very detail oriented. Extremely professional. I will recommend them to anyone I know. The are the only ones I will every use for this type of work. You don't get this type of service now days from many. Just GREAT."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

If you’re DIYing the project, it could take up to a week if you aren’t able to dedicate full-time hours. If you hire a professional and they arrive with a team, expect your stairs to be sanded in as little as 2 hours (for simple projects). Finishing the stairs takes a while longer as there are drying and sealing times to consider, but the actual work will take much less time than the sanding portion.

Costs depend on paint type, surface condition, labor, and required prep work for repainting.

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

There are two ways sandblasting could be dangerous: improper use of the equipment so that the stream touches your skin, and air particles created during the sandblasting process. While the first is easier to avoid and fairly obvious, the second has the potential to be more serious and is much more difficult to understand. This is why you should always hire a pro to sandblast, as they understand the dangers associated with the process. If proper safety measures are taken, then sandblasting is rarely dangerous.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.
