"He came out and figured up the materials needed and we negotiate a price. I left him a check because I was not going to be available later and didn't want him to wait on payment. He called later that day and said he underestimated the crack filler and it could cost me an additional 500 dollars ( keep in mind his bid was 600 dollars, so almost double). I told him to just finish sealing black top. I went to lowes Sunday ( that is 20 minutes away) and bought 2 gallons of crack filler and a couple plastic puddy knives for 24 dollars and finished the job myself. I'm 65 years old and have a knee replacement is why I hired him in the first place. My mistake was to leave him a check, I feel that's why he didn't fulfill his contract."

"JACO saved my backyard project from being delayed any further. I needed an egress window well replaced due to poor workmanship from my builder 30 years ago-it worked but the cinderblock they used was laid in a crooked and uneven manner. We contracted with Acculevel to do the window well, but on the agreed date of installation which was 2 months later, they no showed. After playing phone tag with them, they ghosted me for 48 hrs and then said they were unable to do the project unless I had the window replaced by them with a 2500 increase in cost. Needless to say, We decided to get a new installer. I called JACO that evening and they were wonderful. Roger came out the next day and replaced the window well 2 weeks later. It looks beautiful and I am no longer embarrassed to have someone see it."

"My wife and I had ADC Paving resurface our asphalt driveway in September 2018. It took about a month after we received our estimate from the Company to schedule and complete the job. This was due to ADC's busy schedule and some special circumstances. Cindy did a great job coordinating the schedule and was very responsive via email to get us on the schedule. When the ADC crew arrived, they were very professional, very efficient and did a wonderful job. We have a small driveway with no difficult sections and the job took about 1 1/2 hours. I feel comfortable recommending ADC Paving for other people's asphalt needs."

Went above and beyond cleaning out the gutter. He also trimmed several limbs/branches that were contributing to the blockage and hauled away the mess. As we were wrapping up, he pointed out a medium-sized tree that was causing damage to my house and brought it down for me (for nothing extra!) Like I said, I normally don't write a review but this experience was something I had to share for others."

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues. 

You have a few options if you’re looking for the best material for a steep driveway. Gravel and crushed stone are affordable and provide good traction, while resin helps prevent puddles from forming and can be coated with an anti-slip finish.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

Most heated driveways last from 15 to 20 years with regular inspection, maintenance, and prompt repairs. In other words, a heated driveway lasts about the same length of time as a regular concrete or asphalt driveway. However, your paving material does affect the longevity of your heated driveway. For example, concrete driveways may crack due to temperature discrepancies caused by a hydronic system, which can reduce your driveway’s life expectancy.
